Could be purge valve, or it could be the idler pulley that has a TSB on. There was a bunch of 06-07's that had the suspect pulley. I will post the bulletin tonight, as I have it saved on my home PC.

Has anyone replaced the purge valve with new one that is now quieter? RMerupean has one for $76m but want to be sure before i replace it. Thanks for any input.

yeah I'm wondering about the same thing as well and I hope changing to a new one will settle the problem or at least the newer part version will tick softer when it does make a sound..

I have heard it fixes the issue but i do know one report that it came back after a year or so but then others on here have never had the issue so i say go for it if it bugs you. I will do it one day. I also plan to order the connectors for both sides of it just in case they break while removing the old one. Might save you a headache and they can't be that expensive.

2024 EQE Sedan (on order)
The last time I had a loud clicking noise I determined that one of the spark plug connectors had gotten pulled off the plug. The spark jumping the open gap made a remarkably loud clicking noise. I wondered if all that extra voltage might cause the affected coil to fail eventually, but so far it appeasr I got away lucky.
