255's vs. 245's on rear OK?

Just wondering if anyone is running 255's on the rear (vs. stock 245's) and if there are any issues? I'm assuming not, but want to make sure as I know there's not a lot of room back there. I'm running the CLK 5-spoke staggered wheels, 30mm offset in the rear. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick reply! Do you happen to know the offset on your 18x9.5's? And I assume no rubbing issues?

now isn't 30 offset for the back pushing the wheel too far out?

nope I'm running +25 in rear and roland is running +24 I believe. You'll just have to do some fender rolling and slight pulling if your car is lowered, if you're car isnt lowered I dont see any issues with +30. I had CLS500 wheels and the rear is +30 or +33 and I had 255/35 with no issues either

I've got a set of the OEM "funnel" wheels on my '02 wagon. 8.5" rear width. When I first put on 255's they rubbed a little on the inner fender liner...no biggie. It will also depend on the tire itself. A 255 from Bridgstone may differ from a 255 from Dunlop (and each model in the manufacture's line can also vary some). I don't think you will have an issue, but YMMV.

BTW, hey Greg, how old is Grant now?

Never really understood why they selected 245/40 17 vs 255/40 17 as the latter is actually the same diameter to the front of 225/45 17. The 245 is smaller

here is a great link to calculator to figure out correct sizes:
