05 c230| parking brake pedal issue
Alright guys before anyone says anything I have searched the forums to see if I could resolve this issue but have not had any luck. The issue I am having is my parking brake pedal seems to get stuck on release at around 90% from full release. The remaining 10% I have to manually pull the pedal forward or else the brake light will continue to stay on. I notice that there is some play in the pedal for the last 10% where as there is some tension the remainder of the way. My brake pads are fairly new and the e-brake holds fine even on hills. My car is a manual trans. so I use the parking brake on a regular basis and Im thinking possibly a part has worn out. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Nowhere ...Fast
E brake bracket under the rear bench seat...known to rust then either seize or break....lift up your seat, in the center unbolt a panel and you should see what's going on.

I had the same issue and just sprayed the hell out of the bracket under the seat with pb blaster. But i know some people have also tightened it to take some slack out of the line in order to get the extra 10% of the pedal to move up. I think the foot brake is what I hate most about this car

I'm having the same exact problem. Some times the only way to fix it is to put the e-brake all the way down again and pull the handle a bit quicker. It happens only every now and again but it is annoying.
i'll give this a shot.

I know it's been like 4 months since last comment but I made an account just to write this because my friend just figured it out for my car today and it was very simple. Push down your e-brake, then pull it up as you pull the release handle. I know it's not a total fix but I tried it a bunch of times and it seems to work for me every time as long as I release e-brake this way.

Fixed mine
I had the problem with the pedal not coming all the way up. I accessed the panel under the rear seat, and disconnected the cable from the pedal. I then sprayed the heck out of the pivot area and anything else in that area with penetrating oil, and worked the lever back and forth with a prybar til it loosened up. Reconnected the cable from the pedal and all now works very well. I think the parking brake doesn't get used a lot by most people, and over time just rusts.
