complete c32 conversion on c230 coupe
I have searched performance upgrades for the c230. Also considered swapping in a c32 motor. After talking to a friend that is Mercedes Mclaren certified. He seems to think it would be best to swap everything from a wrecked c32 (motor, trans, electronics, tcm, bcm, cluster, das.) EVERYTHING including wiring. Do you all think it would be worth it? I would like to have a c32 powered coupe.... any imput would be great.

I say go for it ... this would be really interesting if you are able to pull it off... If you have the capacity and resources then nothing should hold you back, unless you don't plan on keeping the ride. Goodluck

I would do it, if you have the right people it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I agree with WaveyKat on the complete car comment.
It'll be one fun coupe!!!

I do know this has been discussed before... and that Pshek did a c32 swap. However he had some trouble with the SCN coding. This being the reason I was thinking of swapping everything from a donor car. Why would this be less reliable than a stock c32 sedan? I like my coupe better than the sedan.

Was it any harder than just bolting everything up? Did you have to do anything special to make it fit? Or make everything work? Any details would be Soooo Soooo greatly appreciated. Trying to get a real feel for what I'm getting into.

When you do it. . . also attach a 6spd manual tranny to it too  I would keep my manual tranny if i were to swap to the C32 motor

From my understanding the manual trannys arent strong enough for the torque of the c32. That being the reason it wasn't offered with it. I have how ever made up my mind. I have a few bills I have to catch up on. Then its time to source a c32 donor car. And game on. Thanks everyone for your imput and help. When I get this project started I will post picks as I go. And give any short cuts I may find. If anyone else has any imput feel free to let me know.

You should really contact pshek for advice....best of luck and looking forward to updates
I wonder if you can make it work with a manual transmission from a 350 engine to handle the extra torque....

neither do i... but i'm interested to sit back and watch what happens...
i would never do it b/c the amount of money you have to put into it is more than the value of the car... not to mention the research involved and having it all depend on a mechanic who is most likely doing it for the first time. it would be a great project to do if it were a second car and someone had money to waste...
