Thinking about buying a 2001 320. I have ?'s
Here's the deal I found a 2001 C320 that has 143,000 on it. The guy wants $5200.00 for it.... but it has the SRS light on and the ESP light on.
Are these major issues? Most C 320's that I have looked at cost way more then the 5k he is asking for. Please give me your advise...as to how much each will cost to fix.

I would not touch a 2001 with a ten-foot pole. A TON of electrical problems with them.
SRS/ESP could just need to be cleared, or it could be evidence of really bad sh*t within. If he can't get it to clear by turning the steering wheel lock-to-lock a couple of times, or within 100 miles, it's something bad.
For the record, I wouldn't touch a 2002, either.

2003 is an OK year depending on model. Stay away from 2003 C230Ks. If you're on a strict budget as it sounds you probably need to look at another brand. You don't want to buy a $5,000 Benz that needs $5,000 worth of work because then it doesn't seem such a value.

Personally, I wouldn't go below a 2006
I'm sure you know, but Mercedes are not cheap to maintain - by the time the car is that old many things need to be replaced or fixed

+1 I have one of the best 01's around here with 164,000 and even I would not buy one another today. That said mine has been so good that it makes me wonder sometimes how my 01 is so got and others have 01's and 02's that are so bad it is not even funny.
