foglight swap questions

hi,
I was wondering if anyone could please give more detail instructions on how to swap my foglights into the clear lens ones for both sides?
I bought a pair from Steve but not sure how to install them.

thanks.

PS: mine is a sedan C class (I only found instructions for the Coupe one).

C coupe, C sedan...as far as the foglights go, it is practically the same.

lens or unit...

I've heard both. That the clears are an actual unit, but I've also heard that you can just change the lens itself. Anyone? And if so, Steve, can we order them through you?

If it's a complete assembly then swaping should be easy.
1. First remove the center under belly pan (6 8mm hex screws).
2. Remove the front wheel well cover (3 10mm hex screws and a few push pins on both inside and bottom). Turn the wheel facing the outside of the car first will help.
3. Remove the fog lamp assembly (2 8mm hex screws from the bottom, you may need a long extension to reach them easier).
4. Last twist out the bulb and put it into the new assembly.

The clear foglights are different inside compared to the non clear fogs...by swapping the lens only you won't get the same effect as with the OEM clear foglights, because:
1) the trim round the lens will be gray instead of chrome
2) the bulb will not be covered by a silver colored piece
3) your lightpattern will be off

Here is a picture of the OEM clear fogs and the result of non clear fogs with clear lenses:

Every now and then I have a set of OEM clear fogs...

Aerodragon,
To replace the foglights on the sedan - you're going to have to remove the bumper on the driver side. Passenger side has access per 20FHK02's instructions, but driver's side requires you to remove the bumper for access. It's a couple of screws here and there - you'll see.

I want to replace the fog lamps on my '03 c240 to the clear ones on the new w203 models. they ones on my car and the ones on the newer models appear to be the same shape, are they a direct fit? would anyone happen to know the part # associated with the clear ones that would fit an '03 c240? thank you in advance.
