I bought a new anti-theft control module, figured it was next to the alarm siren under passenger wheel well, but its not. does anyone know where the control module is located?

And its not underneath the fender shroud, I have taken everything apart and only thing in the bracket is the siren itself. there is a plug that is connected to the siren which I assume is coming from the anti-theft module. But no module is to be seen

Well I have a brand new rear SAM, and I have purchased a new Anti-theft module. So I need to know where that module is located. I am pretty sure it is not apart of the rear SAM.

Pope, Russel isn't completely correct. The Rear SAM does control the connections to all the sensors and lights, however the actual ATA (Tow Away) module is part #A2118209126 and sits just to the upper right of the Rear SAM on the same bracket. There should be a 3 wire connector (wire colors: red/white, brown/green and green/gray) that connects the ATA module to socket 4 in the back of the Rear SAM. Hope that helps you.

Hello,

I think my Anti-Theft module is not working. The red flashing light in the cabin doesn't start when I engage the remote lock. I used this thread to locate the module. Found exactly what techniker describes (with the 3 wires). However, in my car the part number is different. Do part numbers vary even within w203s? My part number is A203 820 27 26. I just wanted to know if techniker's mentioned part number is compatible with my car.

Also, from what you have read, am I going in the right direction? I tried replacing the siren (that sits behind the F/R mud guard) but that didn't help. I have attached a picture of the module below.

Absolutely amazing, purchasing parts and you haven't even found the fault. I wish I had you as a customer.

In any event why not get a scan and first find out what is at fault, before jumping off the fence and running down and trying to screw them all!!

I replaced the siren because that's what someone said the problem was. But I returned it to the seller for a full refund, so no harm done.

Secondly, I don't trust those guys with the scanner because I had a problem with my F/R turn signal, and two mechanics used their equipment to suggest that there was no ground and hence the control module for the turn signal had to be replaced. I didn't believe them so I got to work on it myself and found a bad contact between the the bulb and housing--that's all!
