Like the title says, I am thinking about getting a 2003 C240 AWD wagon. I am hoping to purchase it next summer. What should I look for, why should/shouldn't I buy one. And stuff like that. Thanks a bunch!!

So I take it there is not much info on wagons?? Did I word something wrong? Should I aim for a sedan, an E-class wagon(though I don't like the looks as well), or what??

MBWorld Fanatic!
There are wagon owners here on the w203 section, just not many. But there are a few so try a quick search and maybe directly ask some of them of there opinions, good luck

2003 c240 4matic wagon
well I have one C240 4MATIC 2003
I love it BUT
make SURE the rad has been done if its not a behr and make SURE the tranny fluid has ben changed
they break rear springs (if there is any rust on the springs) and fronts rears are cheap and easy fronts not so much
the car is very handy esp the way the rear seats fold and tumble
id buy another but likely a 2005 if i stayed c class but my wife like the size of the e-class

2004 c240 RWD wagon owner here. Mine has been rock solid. Zero issues short of regular maintenance. I bought mine with ~39K, currently at 86K
The 4-matics are prone to front CV boot wear, so make sure those are not leaking. Also, do a search on BEHR versus Valeo radiators. Other than that, the c240 is a pretty reliable.
Here's a bit a more info:

No problems here
I bought a 2005 C240 wagon with 56k miles on it one month ago and have put about 3k miles on it so far here in florida. Not one problem...so far so good and I hope it stays that way!!!

2008 c350 SG - 2004 c240 Wagon BS
We bought a 2004 C240 wagon new. It's now got about 62,000 miles and has been great. My wife won't give it up.
Only problem was a lost alternator, battery and now front brakes (again).
We put 2005 17" staggered sport wheels on just after new and it seems to eat tires no matter which ones we use.
Should have stuck with the stock 16" in think. (still have them in a box).
Great car. Wish it had Bluetooth.
