BROKE Water Pump help!!

The quote for the labor was $350 from my Indy guy for my X's ML.
I'd done water pumps on other vehicles, and this seemed excessive.
It was a pain in the butt since the water pump attaches to the timing cover and you have to remove the alternator and all kinds of crap, like 30-50 bolts, and they're all
different lengths and you have to keep track of which ones go where,
assuming the 2.6 is the same series as the 3.2L.
For the M111, I haven't had to do it yet, but it looks much easier.
Yeah. Thats about right for the water pump. 3 hours of labor, $150 for the pump, and another 30-40 or so for the bellt.
The ML has a fan mounted to the front that you need special tools to unbolt, so you won't
have to worry about that since you most certainly have an electric fan.
It took me about 5 hours and
in the end, I wished I'd just had the mechanic do it.
