i'm like oh yea....ok bye!!!!

Any one has done the isntall themselves ...or where had you have yours installed and how much did they charge?!

What a rip-off... shouldn't be nomore then a 3 hour job... about anywhere between $150 to $300 to install... and another $60 for alignment...

Lowering your car is best done with the right tools and equipment. Your C-Class uses a special nut in the front shocks which requires a Mercedes Benz special tool. Moreover, the rear springs also can seriously benefit from a spring compressor designed for it.
These tools lessen the "modification strain" on your vehicle, and makes the job easy and worry free. However, these tools cost a lot of money (i.e., the rear spring compressor can run up to $1,500 for a set form Hazet or Klann).
Though less-equipped shops and DIYs can accomplish the same, it normally takes triple or quadruple the time for the same work that can be performed within an hour or two using the right tools, not to mention that you will end up dismantling more parts and run the more personal and mechanical risks while doing the job.
$300 in labor for example, might sound a lot but this pays for such tools, lift time, technician experstise, and also shop insurance should anything get messed up. Believe me, it is well worth the money once you submerge yourself into the project without the right tools.

OK talked to a bunch of places, and the best qoute I got is like for around 225 to 300, this place has good reputation though they mostly do Japanese import cars. Also I called the MB dealer and of course I know they are not going to do it but I asked about the special tool than RANDALL mentioned...and they service manager said, there is no MB special tool its the industry standard tools like torque fasteners etc. And he said any place that is familiar with suspension and specailly McPherson suspension should be able to do this. ...
RANDALL r u sure about the tool/lug you were talking about.
Also any one else PLEASE tell me how much u paid someone to install your H&R cup kits.
And anyone who did it themselves PLEASE post something here! Thanks in advance.

so basically if the place doesn't have this they are screwed and they gonna probably do it anyway and damage stuff..and charge me for like 8 hours of labor (probably because they don't have this tool)
mm...how about if i just bought this tool?! and did it myself...my friend has bunch of tools and a compressor....
ahhh...don't know what to do.....its nothing like having to wait for your parts to get to you when you order them but its worst to have that H&R in the box at my house...i gotta put it on sooooon!

Here are the other things you will need (to the best of what I remember):
FRONT:
1) McPherson Strut Spring Compressor, the Branick wall mount is preferred since the factory springs are about 2.5 times longer when it is removed from its seat.
2) W203/W209 Top Nut Remover for front shocks.
3) 19mm socket (for lower bolts)
4) 12mm hex head (for cross pin bolt)
5) thin 22mm open end wrench (to counter the hex cross pin bolt)
6) 16mm ratcheting closed end wrench (for sway bar link bolt)
7) 7mm socket (to counter sway bar link removal)
8) Torque wrench (to torque the load-carrying bolts and nuts to the right spec)
9) 21mm socket (to remove the shock tower nut)
10) Loctite (optional)
REAR:
1) 10mm socket (to remove plastic cover plate)
2) 16mm socket (to remove lower shock bolts, 17mm in some cases).
3) 16mm wrench (to counter lower shock bolt, 17mm in some cases).
4) 18mm socket (to remove inner control arm bolt)
5) 18mm open end wrench (to counter inner control arm bolt)
6) KLANN or HAZET spring compressor (to relieve spring tension)
7) Wobble link (to get angled positions when removing control arm bolt)
8) WD40 (optional, to help spring pad slide easily into its cavity).
9) Torque wrench (to torque load-carrying bolts & nuts to the right spec).
The following will help tremendously:
1) 1/2" Impact Tool, twin-hammer 600ft-lbs reverse @ 90psi
2) 1/2" impact tool extensions
3) Air compressor, 25 gallons or more, 175psi or better
4) 4-wheel locking automotive lift, 6000 lbs rating minimum
If you have not done this before, allow at least half a day's work.
Now decide if it is not worth the $$$ to just pay somebody else to do it.
Cheers!

Thanks everyone for the help. Yea that seems like a lot of tools i need to do this. Now only thing is that even if I pay someone to do it how do I make sure they have all this. If they dont' and they just take the car they gonna spend hours trying to do it and I have to pay them for that....
mmm...didn't think installing a cup kit would be this much trouble!
gonna print this thead out and go the shops and see what they got
Thanks everyone

Or perhaps ask if they are endorsed by your local MB dealership for the work that they are about to do on your car.
The quality of the work is also dependent on the tech's knowledge and experience with the car(s).
