Can anyone point me to the fuse for the cigarette lighter? 2002 W203
A penny got down in there some time ago and I'm guessing shorted it out. I pulled every panel in car that I know has fuses in them and checked each on and could not find a blown fuse.
I didn't have a diagram page in my car and the ones I am finding online don't appear the same (not sure I was looking at correct diagram though)...can anyone tell me what fuse I need to pull and where it is located? I know of fuses on driver side dash, in engine bay (driver side) and trunk (driver side).

Now look at nemtulea's first photo,.... see the paper fuse map,... that'll tell you which fuse is for what,.... it'll tell you which on is the cigarette lighter fuse,.. If you can't find your fuse map,... search, posted numerous times
Gee,... why does it not surprise me that you would short your cigarette lighter with a penny,....

Out Of Control!!
There is a pdf here somewhere in here that you can print out and keep in your car; I have had it in my car ever since I threw out the OEM one by accident. A search should pull it up easily (if I can find it, anyone can).
Sunny's a little cranky , but does provide excellent, thorough answers. That's hard to come by on forums, so be glad they do go through the trouble.

I think all W203's are the same. If so, it #47 under the hood.
Should be a fuse pulling tool in one of compartments on the side of the trim in the trunk.
You'll see it stuck in a piece of styrofoam that covers and electronic module, where the first aid goes.
Spare fuses originally would have been in a bag with the spare.
Here's the diagram.
One page lists the fuse # and the other it's location in the car.
I think it's the same for all W203 pre facelifted cars despite the name of the file.

ehh, do your thing I don't care. I do beleive that kind of approach makes for a much less credible forum though...been on a lot over the years and and seen sites deteriorate too often. I like mbworld and would like to not see it go downhill
back to that post, you said something about first pic a diagram in there...I have to be blind...what diagram you referring to? I know there is supposed to be a sheet in my fuse area on drivers dash, but I did not have on. I spent a bit of time looking for a diagram and what I did find matched locations but not fuse layout
btw penny was from my 7 yr old

OK, that looks a lot better (without looking right now)...I found another diagram online last weekend that had the right fuse box locations , but the fuse layout was different under hood fuse box...hopefully this is what I need.
thanks

Yeah,... you must really be blind then,...
In Nemtulea's very first post,... his very first picture of the 4 posted,... the left-most picture,.... the picture of the driver side fuse box,... open up the picture,... notice, the 4 30amp green fuses on top? What's that right above that group of 4 30amp green fuses? A folded piece of paper,... the FUSE MAP!!!
Now, do you see why I was ribbing Nemtulea for wondering if he's missing some fuses? The fuse map is right there,... all Nemtulea has to do is read it to compare it to the options the car has,...
Since you couldn't identify the fuse map in Nemtulea's photo, you obviously didn't know where to look (nor did you read your owner's manual!) so that's why you couldn't find your own fuse map. Open up your driver side fuse box and ask your 7 year old if he/she can find a piece of folded paper in there,... BTW, its not a good idea to let a 7 year old play with cigarette lighter socket! Anyways, I wished I had a 7 year old to blame stuff on,....
BTW, what really deteriorates a forum are posters that are too lazy to use the search function,... these cars are 10 years old,... lots of issues have been covered countless times,... there's lots of contents on these forum,... you just need to search for them,... instead of posting countless new threads asking the same questions over and over,... which will just clog up the search results for those that actually do search.
Like I said,... if you expect courteous friendly customer service with a smile and a sweet tone,.... go to their local Mercedes-Benz Stealership,... and bend over for it!
As a courtesy,.... attached is the photo from Nemtulea's that I was referring to,... Now do you see the fuse map? HINT: notice, the 4 30amp green fuses on top? What's that right above that group of 4 30amp green fuses? A folded piece of paper,... the FUSE MAP!!!

I don't get it.
I told him exactly which fuse to check and where.
I re-posted the fuse map, with both pages, the fuse # listing and the map as to location...
He obviously can read, but can't seem to comprehend the info being given?
huh?
Sunny, glad you have a sense of humor... he he..
we got rain rain and rain today. Need a bigger umbrella.
TestKinight, See the nice red square outlining fuse #47? See the previous page in the adobe pdf where it states the "Cigar lighter" is fuse 47?
See the little black line that points the location of the fuse box under the hood?
Since we know the C32 was sold from 2002-2004 we also know that this is the right fuse diagram since no changes would've been made before 2005 when they 'facelifted' the car.
Even then it's possible they are the same, but not to confuse things....
If your next post isn't about you replacing the fuse, and nothing else, why I'm gonna moida ya!
So get to it!
Or my next response will be to go to the Stang forum and STFF. he he

Not sure where that came from...all I said to you was thanks and that I hoped it looked better than the other map I pulled down. I haven't been able to get back to this yet, but one thing for sure it is VERY clear now.
All said, you guys did give me the info I was after so thanks.
