Taken delivey of C-Coupe but where is the gas?
I took this at a stop on I5. Great day to take delivery in Sunny California.
Magma Red with the special order Oyster leather. I said I would not pay $1000 just to get a color combination but seeing as I got such a good deal anyway, what the....
It is: Magma Red, Auto, C2, Oyster Leather and CD Changer.
But on my 450 mile drive I got the fuel gauge problem . I got a full tank of gas and about 20mins later the system tells me the tank is empty. I got off from the freeway, turned the car off and on and it was ok.
I spoke to Andre at Laguna and he says this is excusive to California. California gas companies apparently put a winter chemical in the gas which reacts with the flotation device in the MB. Laguna claim the flotation device gets stuck because of this chemical and a dealer will replace it under warranty but it will happen again???

I think Magma really stands out. That would be my second choice from Brilliant Silver.
Enjoy!!

I got the distinct impression from talking to an MB Technician that the fuel guage problem is an electronic calibration issue. Apparently this happens when you fill the car up with gas while the engine is running (not a good practice in any case). The reset procedure is to turn the car off, let it sit for a few minutes and restart (why does this sound so much like Windows XP?).

I will post more pictures of the Coupe this weekend. I'll do some interior pictures also.
My travel was like so:
Got up at 3:30am to ensure we were at Oakland Airport two hours ahead of time. Got through Security with 5mins so waited at Airport gate for 2 hours. I have flown several timessince sept 11 and this is always the case.
30 mns door to door drive from Berkeley to Oakland airport.
Book the flight the day before and it was $103 dollars for a one way ticket.
6:10 flight left on time and arrived at John Wayne Airport at 7:25. The laguna driver was standing, as promised, outside the john wayne statue.
Got to Laguna Niguel at 7:45 given a coffee and Andre met us.
We left the dealership at 10:30 am.
Had lunch in Hollywood, slight detor. Back on the I5 at 1:15pm.
Got back to Oakland Airport (pickup car) at 6:30 pm and back home by 7:30pm.
It was so much fun to spend a whole day driving that I would suggest ordering the car far away.
Those who want a factory leather C-Coupe: I ordered a black C-coupe with Factory oyster leather, auto and c2 and it arrives in two weeks. Of course now I will not be taking it.
