ECU Tuning
Hi Everyone,
I've been MIA for a long time. Hope everyone is doing well. Shutouts to my great palls at MBWorld. I would like to say...if I have been a jerk towards anyone I am sorry for that. Couple of year back I was going through some stuff and if I have bullied and/or mistreated anyone I am sorry for that (deeply).
I had a questions about tuning. I know in our Benz community this has been a kept secret for a while. With the w203 coming down in price I would like to start on a nice project car (if not mine). I would prefer a manual 2007 230 NA mainly due to the e85 capabilities which is so forgiving. Before I begin I would like to give an update on my vehicle. I still have my C350. It's still kicking and surprising a lot of folks at 92k miles. For those who don't know about my mods I have OBM headers (wannabe Kleemann headers) and I have a custom tune (dyno tune) from OETuning and I have a 82mm throttle body/manifold conversion. During a dyno tune session (when I installed the 82mm throttle body and new intake manifold) my car was making stock power down low till about mid range 3k which power then jumped drastically. I believe this was due to the manifold which doesn’t have flaps that limit the air and also the throttle body being much bigger.
I would like to start a hobby (if you may) on tuning and to see if I can unlock some more power out of the vehicle. If I blow the motor then I blow it…I really don’t care about the effects of an amateur tuning a vehicle. I’m still experiencing weird issue when power is at its peak (car shuts off). I want to start on my vehicle and learn tuning and one day I would like to complete my goal (turbo charging a w203 with stock ecu since it can handle boost).
I just wanted to say hello and also to ask if you have any information please send it my way. I already do have the hardware but don’t have the knowledge to perform tuning. If I do find information and If I do reach my goals know that I will help out my fellow w203ers
I specifically need to know where the maps are. I have done extensive research and in these coming weeks I will see if my research will prevail or just fail.
I'm also going to go based off of the diesel motor (turbo placement). I will update thread as I find more information.

Thanks for the kind words guys. It's good to be back.
MrVu you're wheels are awesome. One of the sexiest wheels I have ever seen on a w203. You are right I think it is time for some kind of turbo application

Karo…good to see you hanging around again! Best wishes with your project.
Yeah ECU and TCU tweaking is a lot of fun, and I’m no IT guy.
Inexpensive OBD-II software from HP Tuners and EFI Live facilitate virtually any programming workaround on Yank machines.
Of course there’s a ton of solid intel about hacking ‘em up on many forums.
Mixture strength and spark timing settings are dramatically different when consuming E85, particularly when flogging boosted applications.
It’s far more forgiving, although a quality wideband should be considered mandatory before you get too happy with any maps.
Now would probably be the appropriate time to disclose that my MB computer knowledge absolutely nil. :nix:

Thanks for the warm welcomes and the info. I had a little mishap with the car (minor fender bender..dealing with suspension and finally got Ghostrider's camber kit installed).
I had the chance to pull the ecu out to take a read and to my surprise these two guys were staring at me. I guess my tuner left a surprise for me.
I haven't read the data yet. I didnt have the connector that was put on..I only have the pins (which I think is the correct way) no offense to any tuner. This one to my knowledge looks like a Marelli connector. When I have some time to take off those connectors (I think this weekend) I'll have a look at my file.
Take a look

I meant the reunion part Myself, Karo, Matt, and Andrew use to talk all the time on here but have all sort of drifted apart. Mostly Karo who went MIA and then Matt went crazy and sold the c230 and bought a rouge for some crazy reason then the car killed itself and now he has a c300. HEY MATT!! I need to come visit you again and see this new C300 and race
also you need to meet my fiancé.
Ok back on topic of Karo's turning and turbo. Keep us updated man I don't have the money for crazy mods anymore as I quit my job and went back to school full time so I need to watch others do crazy mods so I don't have to spend money.
