Seat not locked message
Hey all, I purchased an 05 c230 kompressor sedan a couple weeks ago for the wife, well the "drivers seat not locked" message keeps coming up. I've searched here and google and all the answers are for coupes/convertibles that have seats that flip up for rear entry/exit. Ive tried to look up under the seats for some kind of switch but no success. The power seat works just fine but the message annoys the wife. Any help before I take it in would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Scott.

I have the same issue from time to time. I am sure the problem is dust/dirt inside the buckle but cant figure out how to open it and clean it inside. Anyone?

That message is wrong for a sedan. I get it often in my CLK for the passenger seat when people don't click it back properly.
Try taking all the electrically operated seat controls to their maximum in every direction. This makes them re-learn the parameters & MIGHT get rid of the erroneous message.
If it was seat belt you would get a warning light in the cluster & the chirper.
If you have manual seats for fore & aft movement it makes no sense because there is no microswitch to monitor latching.
Remember there are basically 3 seat configurations for these cars. Full memory, partially automated & manual.

Was the seat module replaced? If it was secondhand it might have come from a coup/conv donor.
There is also a possibility there is a nut loose on the keyboard, and he coded an option for a folding seat in the software.

that very thought has crossed my mind. Is the module the black box under the seat? I'm gonna check the car fax when I got home. The previous owner had all the maintenance and repairs made at the dealer I bought it from.

Ok I've been doing some investigating. I noticed on my module there is an empty plug that all the ones I've seen online do not have. I wonder if this is for the lock switch? Ill try to get a pic....

Ok took it to the dealer that I bought it from, they all scratched their head in confusion saying that message shouldn't be showing up on a sedan....but the gladly offered to hook it up to the computer for 110$. I chuckled and said "no thanks" everything functions just fine. I can't justify 110$ for a tiny annoyance.
