An HONEST C-Class financial question

The financial poll is screwed, so lets get some real answers. How much loose change do you keep in your C-Class and where?

I have $2.90 and I keep it in the ashtray. Actually, I have removed the ashtray insert, but it is in that space.

Any better places (in the car) to keep change that don't rattle as much?

Currently, I have:

$1.50 - 6 quarters in the coin slots - convenient for toll road/parking meters...

$10.00 - 40 quarters in small bag in lower armrest compartment - used to replenish stock in aforementioned coin slots...

$0.83 - loose change in the upper armrest compartment - can't stand to carry loose change in my pockets...

For a grand total of $12.83...

As for rattles, the lining of the armrest compartment holds the coins in place to prevent rattles. This is a limited solution, since other things may rattle against the coins.

Ooph, I need to find something better to do with my Sunday mornings.

In my old car I kept about $10-15 worth of various coins in a little slot-like area, the actual purpose for I am not sure. Whenever I got to above about $20 (when the area started overflowing into the shifter) I would scoop some up in a bag and take it into Meijers to the coin machine where i would convert it into bills.

In my new coupe I also keep the coins in the ashtray. So far I only have a small collection, about $2.00, but knowing me I will probably end up with a fair amount. I love the new setup because A) the coins are out of view and B) the ashtray insert makes a convenient carrying case to bring the coins into a coin changer

I have about $8...

Funny question you have here... at the time I received my new car, all my friends kept chuckin change in the back.. when I asked what it was, they all replied for good luck. One day I looked back there and there were quarters nickels and dimes all over the floor. I lifted the mat and let them all fall underneath which to this time they still remain. I pick them up to vacuum, and then throw them back when Im done. I also have the coin area filled with quarters which holds about $3.

My friends always lay coins on me and rub my belly .........oops that's a different story

Anyway I have a 1 dollar coin from a casino in Vegas for good luck of course. Used all the quarters so I now have a buncha change probably not worth more than Two bucks in the ashtray.

$4.33 in the ashtray, mostly nickles for some reason. $1.25 in the upper armrest, and I just found an additional $.38 under my seat! Wohoo! But then I found my daughters sippy cup under there too..:o I guess "mommy" let her drink in the car. I must go beat her now.....Just kidding.

9 dollars in quarters and assorted loose change not totalling more than 3 dollars. Finally there's Mercedes' emergency allowance 116 dollars.

Too funny! I had no idea this many people would go out to their car and count their loose change

I am a little disappointed though. With close to 60% of us C=Class owners making over $100k, I thought someone would have a duffelbag full of change in their car!

BBD, the folks on this forum didn't get where they are by carrying around a duffle bag of quarters in the trunk... You get a better return with the duffle bag at the bank on in the stock market!

Saving for that S500...
