What's the coolest feature(s) on the C230K not found in the owner's manual?

Young, I can't find these things in my glove box... Can they be blocked by the CD changer?

This is a cool feature, auto window roll up/down. It also includes the sun roof.

However, for some reason the "recirc" mode in the C Coupe only effects the windows... I guess that's because the latter uses the "auto up/down" function of the windows that's absent in the sunroof (auto-close, that is).

I wonder if the sunroof auto-close can be added programmatically? I.e., via a firmware upgrade?

I think the 'pen' clip is really for a tire pressure gauge.

Does anyone else find the remote key window/roof thing to be inconsistant. It takes me about 10-15 tries before it actually works?

Thanks

Nathan

Nathan - yep, same problem. I have to aim it exactly correctly, and even then, it might not work. I only use it when I'm not in a rush, and it's warm outside.

BTW: the c class pen from the Botique fits perfectly in the clip, and looks great. Another way to spend too much money on Benz crap.

You have to aim the key directly at the IR sensor on the door handle so its a bit finicky. They should've included that feature as part of the RF transmitter instead

There was a thread about the C230's lack of auto close some time ago... no one mentioned a program capability.

BTW, like your new avatar. Your old one of that wacky guy used to drive me crazy! That was one time when I actually kept quiet . I did try to send a note once but it never posted due to the old posting problem!!

When I first read this topic I was interested because I thought there might be some "Easter Eggs" out there like there is with the Porsche. You know the diagnositcs on the dash display.
Any one out there know about that?

Well, there are "easter eggs"...such as completely disabling traction control via the DYNO MODE setting...if you like smokey burnouts. Then there's the undocumented performance/fuel and "Norway" settings (available only if you have an official MB Diagnostic decoder ring computer)

But I think by far the coolest feature not listed in the manual is this website and all the information that is shared among the members.

A close runner up is the attention this Coupe driver seems to get from women....

AWWW, Rick!

Come on you can share with us some of the really SECRET MB stuff!

Tell us where we can get a diagonostic hook up for our PDA or some such stuff.

MB has always been known for their advances in technology. But I have to say that the others like Porsche are COOL with the ability of the owner to get STUFF.

How long before we get downloads of stuff to our COMAND center?

if I lock the door and it does not work I have to unlock and try again.

Is that just my perception or has anyone else found you can not get it to close while the car is locked?

Also has anyone had a crackling static from the stereo system. The other day I go this weird static from the left speakers that went away after I turned the stereo on and off?

Thanks

Nathan

the window roll down also can open the sunroof. you just have to repress the button and hold it while pointing at the sensor.

Stereo on with car off

The stereo can be turned on with the car off, just one of the many nice touches the Benz has.

A tucked away in the manual feature that I use and enjoy: the auto scan on the radio. Hold in the auto scan button, and it scans and temporarily puts the strongest local stations into your presets. Your old presets are still there when you turn off the feature. It is wonderful for long trips--just hit it and you have an easy selection of local stations.

Actually, I've discovered that it works well up to 8-9 feet by yourself. However, when others are present to witness this amazing feat, the effective distance is reduced to 1-2 embarrasing inches.
