AMG
I have seen someone do it before on this forum. The steering wheel fits and the yellow and green airbag harness plugs up. The steering wheel controls is another story the plugs are different and it has to be repined and you have to use a facelift cluster along with stereo and basically a whole facelift interior. The make harnesses for the stereo so you can perform this.

If it's the design of the rim that you want to change more than the interior of the wheel, then you can just take it off and get it redone, and save yourself a ton of headaches. Or get the AMG Medic wheel, which is gorgeous.

Aha I was worried about that. But I have an aftermarket radio and a traxxas steering wheel module, the module basically accepts most w203 steering wheel input, do you have an idea why it requires a new cluster?

Actually I'm interested in changing the interior of the wheel, I kinda love the 3 spoke one!, I'll see if the AMG medic will change my mind! They're kinda hard to find though!

c270 cdi
I have facelift??

Hi All,

I just bought this steering wheel hoping to do the same upgrade. My c270cdi is a 2004, its built the month they introduced the facelift interior which I have with newer command, dash etc however it wasn't until another month went by that the facelift got the newer steering wheel!

With that in mind I thought it would be a straight swap!

The old wheel has one 3 pin connector (not inc the 2 airbag connectors), but the new wheel has three 3 pin connectors... strange since both wheels have the same button controls.

the 3 pin i have will not fit in any of the socket locators on the newer wheel, does anyone know if theres a way to wire it at the wheel to make it work since I already have facelift interior?

Regards, Ian

I haven't done it yet, but my guess is if it's CAN and the circuitry is the same, you could just rewire, but again I'm just guessing !

can you pos a picture of both connectors old/new and the one on the car ?

also if the pics show the wire colors it would be of more help !

let me know !

Hello Pré My2005 have a diferent control module for the radio and steering comands, you have to find an airbag with the same connection or from facelift that has the same connection
