Hello, I have an 07 c230 that was chirping three times on lock and one time on unlock. Now it only chirps on unlock but not on lock. The battery did run flat the other day, wondering if this might have something to do with it? Could it be a door sensor that is not registering and does not activate it?
Thanks guys!

After locking the car with the key, try opening all 4 doors and the trunk. You'll likely find one of them is not locking.
Just checked that. All doors and the trunk are locking :/. Any other ideas?
The door sensors are known to get damaged by seat belts and the door would still lock unless it is a drivers door. Driving the car you would get a noticed though that the door is open i would think.

When it comes to these cars I don't believe in coincidences. If the battery ran flat then something went askew, either from the dead battery or when power was re-established. Sometimes you have to disconnect the battery and then reconnect to clear gremlins that pop up when you connect the battery!
Fixed it. It ended up being the battery. I took it to an Indy to check codes via star and it was showing 11.8 volts. Odly enough on the battery with a meter it would read 12.6 and sometimes 11.8. Went to the dealer picked one up for $130 and she's back to normal. On a side note, there is a rubber grommet that the battery vent hose goes into that fell downwards. Would anyone happen to know the part number for this?

Told ya..
Glad it's fixed. On a side note, I too just replaced my battery this past January, it was showing 12.2 V but could barely crank the car. It was the original battery with a manufacture date of 51/04!

You were dead on. Thanks for the help. The one on my car was also the original manufacturer battery. Id say 7 years is a good run. Originally Posted by RWDlifer

Now on to another task, that grommet. It is the one that goes on the body of the car. The vent tube goes within the grommet. It seems to have fallen when I was replacing the vent tube, I'm thinking if I remove the rear fender liner on the front quarter panel it might be somewhere around there. On the star I can't find the part, anyone care to point me in the right direction?
