What Projectors in W203 Bixenon Headlights?
Anyone happen to know? I would suspect it's the E46 projectors, but I have read those have a rather narrow beam?
I installed the OEM bixenon headlights in my C320 and I absolutely love the lighting. The beam pattern seems very wide.
I'm now considering doing a bixenon retrofit for my 2008 E350 and would like to use the same type of projectors. Currently, it has the halogen projectors, so I'd prefer a bolt-on bixenon projector. Any ideas?

The w211 halogen lights are e55 projectors which makes life so nice. If you buy another set of e55 xenon projectors they bolt right up perfectly so the hard part is only opening the light and the wiring up of the flap for high beams.
The best e55's made are the morimoto evox-r's but at $150 I didn't buy them https://www.theretrofitsource.com/co...l#.VmUo_fmrS9I
If you don't buy the evox-r's make sure to get a set of clear lens for the e55's as it makes them much better. As for bulbs Philips 85122's are the best just make sure not to buy fakes. As for Ballasts I went oem with a set of (matsushi ta)one word gen 3's but that makes the install harder and if I were to do it again I would get a set of morimoto's as they are known to be amazing as well as the new ones are small and easy to mount.
Here is my install sadly the pictures are gone but if you would like them I can probably dig them up.

Yeah, I've been reading up on it and have just about everything I need now (thanks to the Black Friday sale at TRS, hehe). I'm hoping to dive into the project in the next weekend or two.
I picked up a set of E55 projectors off a Nissan Maxima. I would have much rather preferred OEM Mercedes, but they are hard to come by (I read they're a little bit different). I opted against the Evo FX-R's due to reportedly shorter beam throw and streaking.
On the Maxima E55s I'm planning to remove the foreground limiters, install the ZKW clear lenses and use Osram CBI bulbs. I got some Denso slim ballasts from TRS and although I have a basic idea, I'm still not 100% sure on how to wire them up.
I have used the Morimoto XB35s before but they take a lot longer to warm up the capsules vs. the OEM setup on my W203, so I splurged on the Denso slims (as per TRS's recommendation). I even got the high beam splitters just to not mess with the stock wiring.
If you can post your pics back up, I'd greatly appreciate it. Can't wait to get them in, just in time for the big El Nino this winter.

Oh good you have already talked to TRS then you are in very good hands!
I believe my e55's were also off a maxima as they had the foreground limiters as well which I failed to notice until they were all installed lol
The clear lenses make a huge difference and you went all out with the cbi bulbs its going to look good.
Wiring is actually really easy the h7 plug gets wired to the power in of the ballasts. For high beam all you do is plug in the splitter (good Idea I did solder job that was a pain) and then the flaps get plugged in to that and you are done! BTW the flaps can't be wired backwards as they work either way.
From my understanding the new xb's warm up much better but you can't beat Denso.
What's your plan for the bulb out warning?
I will try to get pics up later today

Updated pics for you and if you have any questions let me know and if you have an issue and need an answer quick PM me.
Also I would recommend trying to find a shop to program the car to xenon=present as that will eliminate any issues. On my w203 a dealer did it for free for me (I was a good client and had to show them how) but by the time I needed it done on my w211 I had already gotten my star system.

MBWorld Fanatic!
trey! whats up bro. So guess who still has yet to get his voice control module to work! this guy!
anyway, you ever do any mods to your w203 xenons? I've been thinking about either just changing the lenses to clear ones or putting in all new E55 or Evo projectors with new ballasts and ignitors.

What do you have left to do to get the VC working?
I didn't do anything to my w203 headlights besides having to take one apart to replace a igniter. That said I didn't look around really in there as it was before the retrofitting bug hit and they were so much better than what I was use to that with a h7 hid kit in the high beams I couldn't imagine them getting any better.
Why did you want to switch out the stock ballasts and ignitors?
