Parking lamp wiring part number for replacement

Hello,
This is a W203 2005 C55 AMG. I went to replace what I thought was a burned out parking lamp (city lamp?) bulb only to find the bulb was fine, but the wiring was frayed and exposed. I did my best to get in there with electrical tape to cover wherever the wiring is exposed but it's a zero sum game as more comes off as I move the wires and it doesn't seem to be fixing the issue: I've tried brand new bulbs but it's still not illuminating.

Is this a replaceable part? If so, what is the part number, and does anybody know of a how-to or the shop manual instructions?

The parking lamp bulb's wiring is literally falling apart and likely crossing somewhere.

When you look up front, it gets worse, all the lamps are apart of the engine cable harness--203 440 00 07

Thank you for your reply. The luggage compartment harness doesn't appear to be the same as the wiring harness (if that's even the correct terminology for the headlamp wiring to the parking lamp bulb) I'm hoping to repair or replace. I may stop by the Mercedes dealership and talk to the parts team. If I get a solid answer I'll post it here in case anyone else runs into this problem and doesn't want to replace the $1,000 headlamp assembly simply because of a frayed wire.

FYI that is not a "frayed wire". That a brake down of the insulation around the wire. Not trying to be a jerk but it may help you explain it to the SA.

Also new lights are not that expensive around $200 each for Hella brand and if you want to upgrade or have xenon ones they are around 500-600 each.

True; I wasn't sure how to explain it and that's helpful.

Thank you for the link: that does seem to be the part I need, though it doesn't specify if it's for the bi-xenon housing. And I did briefly look into Hella brand housings. I found a replacement Hella housing on a web site for about $610 before shipping.

C230 Sport Coup + 2006 W164 ML350 + 99 Ford Escort (What the heck, it gets 38 mpg!)
Me, I would pull the light, instruction posted around here somewhere,
pull the wheel, wheelhouse cover, and pull the metal clip that holds the bumper,
pull the light housing get it on a bench and repair it, put new wire in (preferably teflon coated)
Like you said $610? Cheap for Bix.
You can actually take the whole thing apart, also here somewhere.
as in someone took it apart and painted some components black.

Those are for the halogen lights if you have xenon lights I didn't see a kit but as C230 Sport coupe said if you remove the lights you could fix them yourself fairly easily if you are a DIY type person.

Ahh, that explains why the wire sleeving has deteriorated.
That type of sleeving has deterioration is often from very high heat, and the wire sleeving isn't rated for that amount of heat for that amount of heat exposure time over that amount elapsed daily time.

To prevent that from happening again, a good real automotive high heat loom should be used. Unfortunately, I do not know where a person can reliably by real automotive high heat loom in low quantities. I buy in large rolls from Digikey. I've had an account with them since the 90's.

What you can buy is:
Thermo-Tec Thermo-Sleeve, or Russell thermo-sleeve. Imho, even the ebay stuff is good and safe to use.

http://www.thermotec.com/products/14...mo-sleeve.html

That's what I'm using to protect my "$7" plastic hose form heat deterioration on my M271 engine.

Teflon coated wire will resist the heat.
