Do a youtube search for "w203 Shifter Shifting Knob Removal". You can remove the trim and c/s switch around the shifter. Be careful not to break the clips. You can then try "drying" the switch out, and you'll be able to see if there is any water in the opening beneath it. Leave it disassembled to allow as much water as possible to evaporate. I'm not sure what else is in there that the water could have damaged, someone else on here will probably know though.

Otherwise you will need a new shifter. $700 US.
Sensor not available by itself.
I managed to get one from a junkyard.
MJ50, where'd you get the Stig's Helmet?

The car is still having a problem of not upshifting, only drives in 1st gear.
Yesterday i took the car for diagnostic and it shows TCU low voltage and speed sensor error.
Does anyone have an idea what needs to be replaced?

Your transmission has locked itself in limp home mode. You need to have what ever damage was done to the shifter repaired and the TCU reset.
