Anybody have any input on coolant and thermostats from rock auto.com
I have a C-Class 280 I believe the thermostat is stuck open. the car runs very cool @60 degrees Celsius MAX, lately it runs at 40 degrees Celsius, I believe the operation temp is supposed to be 80 degrees Celsius. I know I can get a thermostat with the electric heater(i think thats what that is) and housing for around $100 (rock auto) My questions is can I use beck/arnley 2521020 coolant? It is Blue and it states it is for European cars.... http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo....sn=413&jsn=413 I am just going to flush the coolant while I am at it so I am not concerned with mixing coolants I am just curious if that is a good coolant to use with that vehicle. I looked online through forums and read through various threads and found NOTHING! So any input would be awesome!
Thanks in advance

Where do you live? Mars???
Fwiw, Rockauto does not have delivery to Mars. So, you're screwed. Sorry.
Fwiw, MB is sold worldwide. And, the people on these forums are from all over the world.

My lack of words like: cheers, mate, ****, ect was not a dead giveaway? Does it really even matter where I am located? The only thing that would change with be the water coolant ratio if I lived in warmer/cooler climates.

Fwiw, I get my stuff either only from Pelican Parts, a MB Dealer in NY, or a MB Dealer in GA.
I'm in New England, and I often get stuff from the NY Dealer the quickest. Many UPS trucks go directly between NYC and Boston every day.
Fwiw, for any one that isn't an expert on MB parts and how to find the correct part for their car, I always suggest Pelican Parts. They were awesome, and very helpful, when I first ordered parts for my car.

Massively!
In the US, we don't have import taxes.
Elsewhere, the import taxes and the shipping can cost more than the part.
Just read any post by people in Australia or Africa.
Europe is also notorious for import taxes - or what ever the ******* they call it.
So, for the US, see my post above. Also, Pelican Parts is a sponsor of this website.
However, my friend who has had, and worked on, MBs for over 2 decades, was the one that suggested them to me.

I've had at least 2 GM cars since I was 17. :-)
I have a Fox Stang (85-93), that is still my good weather summer daily driver.
I got my 2005 C230 for a few reasons. It was never driven in the snow. It was always a second car. It was always in a garage. The body, frame, and inside are in great shape.
PLUS, did I mention that my Red 2005 C230 Coupe is so Super Sexy, that makes "ScoJo" (https://pagesix.com/2011/12/16/scarl...arjo-nickname/ ) look like an 8 out of 10!

For DIY on a Mercedes I would suggest using genuine Mercedes parts for most things outside of suspension and brakes. Coolant and thermostat, I would definitely purchase MB ... they are not that expensive, and this is not that frequent a purchase.
There are a lot of online MB parts sellers ... FCPEuro, RMEuropean, MBPartsonline ... many of these are dealerships located around the US that offer a discount online parts business with pretty good pricing. Not sure of places to buy in other countries ...
