Location of Antenna Amplifier in W203 Wagon?

2002 C320 Wagon

I am trying to fix a non-working RF Central Locking issue that just started.
(Infrared function works perfectly)

I understand that the RF portion uses the same antenna amplifier the radio uses.

My AM radio reception is VERY weak, though frankly I am not sure I ever tried AM before.

My Rear SAM Fuse #8 that I am told powers the antenna amp is good.

The wagon has printed antennas on both rear side windows, and I do not know where the antenna leads are routed from those windows.

Anyone know where the antenna amplifier is located on the wagon?

FWIW I found a box type amp not looking like the type attached to glass showing it came from a wagon, but not WHERE in the vehicle:

Thanks,
Bob

On the sedan and coupe it's on the top edge of the back window...try feeling behind the headliner edge.

Yes, but because the wagon has TWO antennas, and the hatch w/ the window opens, I was thinking maybe it would probably be a different location.

Plus the photo of the alleged amp for the wagon doesn't look anything like the photo of the one shown for sedans.

Just trying to pin it down before I destroy my car's trim.

This is the type I think the sedan has: https://www.screencast.com/t/37JTE1qrE2

This is the type someone said came out of a wagon: https://www.screencast.com/t/Q9DYwP5e

I am clueless at this point personally.

I am pretty sure my OEM radio should work better on AM than it does, so maybe the amp is out if AM and Central Locking use the same amp.
FM reception is GREAT, though.

Bob,
I'm not sure if this helps but here's a link for the antenna/amplifiers in your c320 wagon: https://www.ilcats.ru/mercedes/?func...45&language=en

WOW!!

Those are a LOT of Antennas and Amplifiers!

I see that many are for other markets. I appear to have antennas in both side windows, and of course, there is a tiny rubber-ducky antenna on the back hatch glass I assumed was for the built in cell phone installation.

Not sure which is which and for what, unfortunately, but I will study the linked diagram to see what can learn, however.

Thanks,
Bob

I know this is an old thread but my fm and am radio reception is really bad in that i can only pick up a few channels, my key fob is fine and central looking works as it should.
im try to locate the antenna amplifier to see if it’s causing the problem, does any body know where it’s hidden?

many thanks

Same problem here - everything okay except FM and AM radio signal very poor. I tried fitting a 'universal' after market antenna which works fine until key position 2 when there's loads of interference. As I can't fix the new antenna properly, I'm wondering if it is the amplifier - but which one, and where is it??
Thanks in advance.
