I took delivery of my 05 C230K sedan on Friday. Here's what I got:

Black Opal exterior
Charcoal interior
6 spd manual
Lighting Package
Sunroof Package
CD Changer

I got it at House of Imports, Buena Park and highly recommend Mark Newton to anyone local who is looking into purchasing a Benz of any kind.

First of all, after months of doing my research and visiting several dealerships, I finally decided in January to put in my order for an 04 C230K. On a fluke, I ended up at House of Imports, somewhere I hadn't visited before. After meeting with Mark, and telling him what I wanted, he told me I should wait for the 05's because of the facelift. There I was ready and willing to plop my $$ right there, and he's talking me out of buying a car. Even with all my research, no one else mentioned the facelift and the rest of the vultures out there were quite willing to take my money. So, I tested my patience and placed my 05 order. Mark kept me up to the minute updates every step of the way (which was a slow form of torture).

After some intense finaggling, where I didn't know whether to shoot my boyfriend or Mark (I was leaning towards the boyfriend), I got a great deal (MSRP 33,650, negotiated 32,000, minus C-Spot $30,500, and then the Finance Manager threw in Tire/Wheel warranty worth $499.00).

THANK YOU VERY MUCH MARK!!!!!!

I have pics but not sure how to load them.....if someone could PM me with the details, I'll post them ASAP!

How is the 6 speed in it? It is supposed to be improved and I would like to know how you feel it is. Have you driven a six speed beforehand to compare to? Also how is 1st gear, I am wondering if it is any longer than the prior. Ours hits about 24-25 MPH at redline.

Unfortunately, I have nothing to compare it to as I've never driven a six speed before. 1st gear red lines around 29-30 mph and 2nd red lines around 50 mph. I'll let you know where the rest red line when I find some open road!

Other than that, I am really impressed with the manual transmission over all. It's extremely smooth compared to the other 5 spds I've owned before and sometimes I forget it's just a little 4-banger under the hood.

Code5Chick,
Congrats on your new purchase. I also live in the SoCal area and am interested in the new 05 C230's. I am new to this board and to Mercedes and was wondering what the C-Spot discount is? Looks like you were able to get a great deal. Did you finance? Rate? Thanks for all the info.

http://www.c-spotdriveparty.com/ <---Check that out for C-Spot info. When you go to the C-Spot party, they give you a thank you gift of $1500.00 off any C-class. That is above and beyond any negotiating. You can also find them dirt cheap on Ebay and some awesome members here have given them away for free. You just gotta ask.

I financed through MB Credit and I my rate is 8.something. Originally, I qualified for Tier 3 credit which is 9.49%, but finance knocked it down to the 8-something to essentially give the wheel/tire warranty for free.

Congrats on getting a beautiful new car.

Not trying to cause any trouble, but I'm just curious. When all is said and done and you've finished making all the payments for the car, how much will you have actually paid?

With T & L, the vehicle was $33.711.91. If I pay as scheduled, my total payments will total $39,680.32. We could've paid cash but I wanted the loan to try to improve my credit. We'll probaby double up on the payments or just pay it off in a couple of years. That will change the interest paid from $5,968.41 to $2,606.29, making the total cost of the car $36,318.12

Sounds good. I was wondering, the CD changer, is it the updated one that has one opening in the center console but holds multiple CDs, or do you still need that CD box thingy?

Anxiously awaiting pics of your new car

Hey, nice car! I am about to but the same one, but I'm trying to figure out if the automatic is worth the extra $1400. I prefer auto for a mercedes, but like driving manual if it feels right. How does the new "short-throw" manual 6-speed feel on the c230 sport?? Does it feel tight (i.e. how does it compare to the feel of, say a bmw's shifter??!!), or should I jus go for the automatic?? Thanks! and congrats, great car, great color, too!!
