Citron discontinued for 2005 models

I was on the MBUSA website and went to build your own and noticed that Citron has been discontinued. My mom says it's about time. I'm kinda disappointed to see it go.

Citron, you don't by chance have the personalized plates on your car with the sun and palm trees, do you?

hey MBTech208, can you tell me how much the installs gonna be for my Sirius. I just ordered it at Penske. Pick it up tomorrow but my car doesn't get out of the body shop for another week.

I know that Citron wasn't selling well. It was a color that you loved or hated and most didnt love it, if they did not enough to wait for it or pay xtra $$ for it. Either way I'm happy with it and aside from the interior changes from the 05's, I have the 2005 taillights already and am happy with my color so whatever. I want the blue lights though, but I'll live without it.

Did you just have it in for service at Penske's new Claremont dealer? I think I saw it there, that's where I work. I don't know how much installation is for a Sirius system, sales could tell you for sure. What kind of car did you order?

didnt order a car. happy with my coupe. yeah Pete was my service advisor. i had the cracked windshield, which is getting fixed through the insurance after the accident and the hood pad falling replaced. i like the new Penske East it's nice. I heard it's 2 hours of labor for the install. Since i have COMAND they said they can install it. Plus they ran my VIN with MB and got the approval and said it would work.

Oh I misunderstood. You said you ordered one, I thought you meant you ordered a car and were having Sirius installed. Pete is also my service writer, although I didn't work on your car.

He's a good guy. He was my service advisor at Penske West Covina. They did my Service B there. They gave me a hassle about not buying my car there but I still have a Penske Preferred Sticker. It's because Mercedes-Benz of San Diego is Penske owned.

Wow, 2 hours labor to install a module on the back of your radio. I'm in the wrong business. So does that make the Sirius unit $1,000 installed?

pity

Citron Green was one of the nicest colours they had.

Black and silver are so ubiquitous that it's nauseating; I wish more people had some kind of imagination when choosing a colour.

At least we'll be getting lime green smart cars in Canada in a few months - that's the colour we'll be getting, in a cabriolet.

I wish for just one model year, Mercedes would discontinue Brilliant Silver, black, white, and Desert Silver. That would add some variety.

yup! and have no problem doing it. want to keep my car with parts that won't void my warranty, use my COMAND controlling it and don't want to void my warranty.

citron was my favorite choice and still is!

my dealer called MB and verified that it could be installed. they have to verify thru your VIN is what i was told. also on the brochure from the dealership showing the sirius radios one picture has a coupe using it. i can tell from the steering wheel and instrument cluster 3 bump look and it has COMAND. im not sure what antenna looks like for the coupe or where it mounts. but once i have it installed i will post pics.

The antenna is the same as the other models, and on the coupe it mounts just behind the rear window, on the small decklid.

so the sirius antenna mounts on the rear window for the coupe? art at penske doesnt know what it looks like until my unit arrives. since its all still pretty new to them. in the brochure the antenna for CL and CLK mount under the trunk lid while wagons are on the roof and if i remember right its on the trunk lid for sedans. the only antenna displayed in the brochure is the one seen on the roofs and trunk lids. it says the CL and CLK antenna is not displayed.

No, it mounts on the small horizontal panel just under the rear window.

Citron Green - beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The new Steel Grey, which replaces Citron, is really cool.

Also, brilliant silver is being discontinued. It is replaced with Iridium Silver. This starts MY05 on the C-coupe. The sedan and wagon still have brilliant silver this year and probably go to iridium silver next year.

yeah beauty is in the eye of the beholder. black, silver and white are way to common for me and no matter how you tweak the names, they are still black, silver and white and they are everywhere, especially black and silver.

i do like the steel grey though, i think it looks cool. still prefer citron to it.
