There are 28, YES 28 codes stored and it idles like a kitten and while not a spunky s mine it was very responsive,
I cleared the codes and after 30 minutes of driving therewas no CEL light and It was settling down from having brain salad surgury (clearing codes)
Without posting all of the (I'm lazy) 28 pics or typing out all of them, these are the first few: OK all of them

After clearing codes and pulling the gas cap, with no sound of air movement. The car drove the same as before clearing the 18 codes (which is actually 9)...
After driving 10 miles, stopping and idling for several minutes I notices one small misfire and the RPM rose and lowered and then all was smooth again.
Upon going to the NIKE store, for some political statement shoes, I started it up and within 10 seconds light was back on.
I drove 5 miles (smooth as normal) and tested with the same 9 codes in response. Checking the gas cap with 30% fuel still no air movement.
I saw the purge system was siting at 0% the O2 (all 4) were at ..4V and .45 volts and stuck there and the cats were in the 560-570 degree range. I glanced at temp numbers and some other things and deduced this thing must be in a form of limp in mode. When I was setting up to look at the live data, I again got a misfire and a slight rpm adjustment, not a search
I have been lucky in my other MB's as I have never had any serious issues that were drivability issues with them ( wiring harnesses, head gaskets yes!!!) but have been around lots of drivability issues with domestic and Asian cars in the 2000's through 2010 era but never something quite like this.
Am I heading in the right direction to pull the rear wheel well and inspect and be prepared to pay for a smoke test (or sacrifice a Churchill) to try and find the leak???
Codes in order in last 2 scans

A lot of work for a vehicle that's not yours, and not sure the location is the same, but on my '03 c230 the purge valve is near the filler neck in the wheel well (have to remove the fender liner). If I recall correctly I took mine out, or maybe just grounded the correct side of the connection, to verify the operation of the valve. I think I had to do this when I ran a smoke test - making sure the valve was closed.
Good luck with it!
I think I am going to buy it, or I would have stopped as soon as the P2009 code was explained. I was amazed that there are lots of "C class" cars that are cheap because of these issues.I just think a cheap Twin might be fun and if it runs good, I may give it to daughter.
I am trying to figure out what wood to use for the smoke test Apple, Cherry or a mix...
Did you DIY the smoke test? Method used? Blowing cigar smoke in the gas tank just doesn't seem to be viable and I haven't priced it at local shops. I believe you were right on grounding to test, and to replace the seal when there.

It uses mineral oil to produce the smoke. The only bummer is that the 'wick' they use tends to burn and needs to be replaced (supposedly can find them at Walmart for cheap).
