I saw a similar post not too long ago. My damn driver side passenger seat squeeks. It sounds really stupid.

Anyone have a similar coincidence??????

What can they possibly do if I send it in for warranty service? replace it?

Chill.

It's seems to be a somewhat common problem, as others have reported. Have the dealer check it out. It's usually lubrication that takes care of it...they'll take care of you.

Yes a squeaky dry spring is a serious quality control issue. What planet are you on????? Go get some WD-40 and spray it on the springs under the seat. Problem solved and WD-40 has a bunch of other uses so you didn't really waste any money on it.

try my brother buying a brand new 2001 3 series bmw back in '01, and 4 months later, the "SRS" light comes on, twice. once was a problem i believe they fixed, and the second time was a faulty sensor. i'd say that was a bit more serious.

Yes because Ford has such high quality cars as well! Sometimes crap happens and something may need some lubbing. Is the weather there dry or dusty? This of course sticks to grease and dries it out so that you get squeaks. WD-40 is you friend in life and helps a great deal. Try doing some little maint yourself instead of blaming the car for a squeaky seat. Are you above normal sized, or is there someone driving or riding in the car above normal size? There are a lot of reasons that seats squeak and quality is not one of them!

You're makin' a big fuss about 1 problem already. I'm surprised you're not cryin' on about the other flaws within the car. List the problems, then. We'll see if it's a serious problem.

Trust me you do not want to get a Ford Focus next time. The problems you have now are absolutely insignificant compared to what you would get with the Focus. Get real.

You were lucky that your seat only had squeaky sound. When I picked up mine last September, the smart exit feature stopped working in 2 weeks and the driver side seat frame has a defect.

I had the same problem got it fixed last friday at the dealers... dam i swear MB sucks!!! ive had tons of problems with mine and i'm sick and tired of it! i think i'm going to get miself a nice 350z instead of the crap i have now!

My family's been driving MB for a long time even though this is my 1st one. We never had any problems with the ones that we pre-ordered from Europe(there aren't usually stock cars floating around in Hong Kong back then, and everyone has to sit and wait for a good 3 months). Well, as a measure to cut cost, MB moved their assembly plant to Brazil for some lower end C-models. I don't know if that could been a QC problem.
