I got the same problem. But I was told by a moderator that the pictures are still there so I guess it had something to do with our computers? Even after clearing cache and cookies no result. I tried it on several different computers always with the same outcome. Maybe someone who can see them might be so kind to upload them again for us.

Thank You!!

I am going to ask the dealership tomorrow about the part.

Oh, does anyone know if there is anyway to have an AUX input that plays thru the bottom of the ipod, instead of the headphone jack? I broke the headphone jack and this could present a slight problem..

Remove the screew using the torx driver head. Then pull the front part of the plastic thing. Now, the only parts holding the plastic should be the two yellow clamps. It is actually two 'E' shaped clamps. And the top line of the 'E' has a reversed 'c' attached at the end. The E is attached to the body(do not try to use screwdriver to pry the yellow thing apart). Now, try pulling the plastic towards the side (near one clamp). (towards your left side when you are sitting on the passenger seat, NOT to the rear of the car). You need to use some force, since the clamp is tightly holding the plastic thing.

If you need any assistance, please let me know!

Thanks.
That's cool! I was wondering how to work those yellow clamps and was afraid to pull them out. I need to order the cable and then try to do mine too.

so, apparently there is, or was in 2006, an ipod integration that plugged into the bottom of your ipod and you controlled it thru your lcd screen in your gauges? i was wondering if production had stopped or if there is still a product number? i kinda have to use this route of integration due to loss of the headphone jack on my ipod..

any help would be much appreciated. thanks

lol, there is still an ipod integration kit you can buy. you can ask at the dealership (and they'll charge you an arm and a leg for it and to install it) or you can try www.mbenznl.com

I went the safe route and had Steve (MBenzNL) install one for me today. I'm now able to hear music from my iPhone using the iPod Integration kit. It connects into the bottom of the iPhone (the same for the iPod). It will then ask you if you want to turn on the 'airplane mode'. Click 'NO' so you can still receive and make phone calls. Just press & hold the CDC button on your HU and you will be able to scroll thru your music library & listen to it via your steering wheel controls. Info from your iPhone/iPod will be displayed on your IC (cluster). Now I don't need my iPhone charger anymore because it acts as a charger too. It wasn't cheap but I think it's worth it. IMO

Has anyone tried this on a 2007 C230? I heard something about the 2007 models having a different connector or not having the white connector at all. Any info you guys have would be great.

I tried that, but could not get the thing off. I got the dorr strip on the bottom off, but around where it overlaps with the kick panel, it seems to be latched on something. I yanked on it very hard and it did not budge. How does it come off?

no white plug = no pre-wire. seems like a lot of the base car does not have them pre-wired.

I mean is it possible its not in that place? I looked at it and pulled wires up, but of course theres all sorts of wires in there. Could I have missed it? I looked as far forward as I could under the carpet, but did not see any other plugs.

So what are my options then? I want a bluetooth phone setup and a way to stream audio from an mp3 player, but will not consider any fm mod stuff. I also cannot see myself spending some ridiculous price for the things like incartronics has.

Any ideas?

looking at your pics my plug was a little further towards the front of the car in that groove where you have all the wires pulled out. i have a 2005 though.. it was deep in there

I ripped it apart again today and dug all the way up to the floor boards by the passenger feet, which is a metal plate. I saw no white connector anywhere unless its run underneath that big metal plate under the passenger feet.

I just picked up my cable this morning and did the install this afternoon. took about a half an hour and works great. the only thing i don't like is my ipod keeps playing after i shut the car off. get back in the car and i realized the ipod was a few songs later. sound quality is great, wasn't sure what to expect but it sounds as good as a CD, sometimes i actually think better. great mod!!! cable cost me $47 at my local dealer.

AUX Harness and Charger?

Great thread. I've read it all and just ordered the Aux harness for my 2005 C240.

My question is charging. Id like to run a wire to the center console and keep the ipod there. I saw somebody had what looked like a separate charger in the section under the gear shifter so they could charge their ipod without using the cigarette lighter. Can someone give me a bit more info on this, specifically what needs to be purchased and how to install? Would appreciate any help, thanks!

I used tap-in connectors and a cigarette lighter extension (both available from RadioShack) to get the power connection to my XM receiver. Make sure you use a voltage meter to tap into the correct power cables on the cigarette lighter. One wire is for the light ring around the existing cigarette lighter (you don't want to use that one).

The bulky part of the cigarette lighter extension fits under the carpet on the passenger-side foot well. I routed the power connection to the XM receiver through the back of the ashtray compartment. I drilled a small hole in the back of the ashtray compartment that will get covered with the ashtray insert if I decided to change things later.

If I did it over again, I'd add a bit more slack when tapping into the existing cigarette lighter, because it was a tight squeeze getting everything tucked back in behind the ashtray compartment.

See post #496 on this thread for more info and pics.

Wasn't there someone on here who modded their deck via the tape deck? It was the most integrated stock mod I saw.

Hey guys I thought I'd share my setup with you all.

This is only one possible alternative I guess but I found it to be the best for my needs as it requires no modifications to the car dash.

It cost me EUR 100 all up . I will shortly investigate running the power cable from the cigarette lighter to the unit undercover.

It transmits music and GPS voice simultanously via FM reasonable sound (clean non distorted treble) with volume level adjustment through the unit.

It takes a 4GB SD card so not too bad for storage.

This is good for a temporary measure I suppose but I would really like to get a hold of the Alpine KCA-430A if I can find anyone who sells them here in Australia

Check out the pix

I not sure that do i understrand this right. Do you have a Fm-transmitter there (whit good sound quality)?

I check this alpine KCA and I think I could then have Aux-Input for mp3 player? Correct if I'm wrong. I find cheapest KCA-430 like 120€..
