Comand Nav for 03 C230

Hello,

I am interested in the Comand Nav for my 2003 C230. I have been
told to go to mbenznl.com to look at things. I have looked at the
systems there are had a few questions. Does anyone know the
size and resolution of the screen? Will the Euro Comand work
correctly in my car in the US? Do the GPS Nav CDs go into the
slot feeding cd drive, or is there a extra component like DVD
that goes in the trunk for that? Can I hook a dvd player up to
it? I saw this guy on ebay selling what was at the mbenznl.com
site and said that he had a bought a few months ago, is this
a sham or a good deal?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38653

Is it worth it to get this navigation or go with something aftermarket?

Thanks for the help!

Steve

Citron, what you're talking about is referred to as "aspect ratio", which is the shape of the screen in terms of how height relates to width.

Resolution is how many pixels are in the screen.

Thanks for the input. Steve's site said that there are av inputs that
come with it? Does anyone know about that? With av inputs I should
be able to hook up DVD player or PS2/XBOX etc. The listed I posted
before, does anyone know if the part listed is everything I will need?
And lastly, does anyone know the going price on the tv tuner?

Thanks again,

Steve

You can hook up a DVD player to it but you have to get the TV tuner option which is not cheap and even then it won't work while the car is moving unless you can convince your dealer to disable this feature which would make it illegal. Installation is not plug and play, you have to be able to modify your existing harness. If you buy from Steve he will come to you to install and he'll warranty the install, also change the computer settings in your car so that the MFD works with Comand, so the extra few hundred he charges may or may not be worth it to you.

Don't you think it washes out too much during the day? I don't know watching video/tv on it on a long day trip for example or daily commute would be that great. At night it would be fine. How likely is it that a dealer would turn the feature off that prevents it's use while driving?
