For those of you that have the 03 Bi-Xenon Head lights

I just notice that the turn signals in the head lights are double filiment. How come? I took off the bulb and there is only one contact on socket. Is the euro head lights different? Just want to know if anyone else noticed.

The wiring inseide the headlights are the same on euro and US models...the US spec headlights - however - have a different fitting with a dual filliament bulb where as the euro spec headlights have a single filliament bulb...I don't know why though (since there is only wiring for 1 filiament in the headlight)...

03 Bi-Xenon bulb went out and got message

I got a message on my dash "check bulb low beam (L)" so I get out of the car, look at the left bi-xenon and true, it's out. A few minutes later I got home, I switched the light switch off/on and the left xenon came back on. Should I pursue this or is it just a quirk and there's really nothing wrong with the bulb?

I would pursue it with the dealer. Since you had the indicator tell you that a bulb was out and it was physically out, there is clearly something not right. Do it while it is still under warranty.

Sometime ago, I got a "Check License Bulb (L)", I went behind to checkout and everything was ok.

Few days later, the mentioned bulb got blown. Wow, the computer can actually anticipating failure!

I had the same message yesterday. I turned the car off and back one and the Xenon bulb magically worked again...I've also had the cluster tell me my right break light was out when it wasn't. I talked with a friend that has a C240 and he had the same Xenon message as the both of us and his dealer ended up replacing the entire Xenon assembly uder warranty...I'll wait until my next service and then mention it to the dealer.

My lights work but the automatic height adjusting function doesn't. The light is too low. It's about 5 meters ahead of my car. This happens after I have a wheel alignment. Is there any equipment under the car that does the light adjustment?

The side mirror also doesn't drop when backing up. The two was just out of order at the same time.

Euro/US bi xenon on RHD C240?

Has anyone ever retrofit a set of Euro/US spec bi xenon headlights on a Right Hand Drive Halogen C240 before? Steve is running out of UK spec ones, so i hope to get the Euro/US spec ones from him if they will fit. Thanks for any input!

Hi are those US/Euro or UK spec bi xenons? Is your C class a Right Hand Drive one? If you are in country other than US, did you have to bring your car to the dealer to recalibrate the car's ECU? Looks really good!

By the way, will the bixenon headlights work without bringing the car to dealer or having the dealer recalibrate the ECU? Thanks again!

US/Euro headlights will blind oncoming traffic when used on RHD cars. And you won't be able to see well either. The beam will be aimed at the wrong side of the road.

Agree with Lynn on this one. Sorry Steve. I wouldn't put on the incorrect lights because of how the light is thrown. Those people you mentioned are taking chances in my book, or they may be thinking of driving in a different country.

...I know...

Weird/funny is that there are several US people with euro bi xenons who use the anti blinding plate inside the headlight (only to be found in euro and UK spec lights - not in US spec lights) to change the lightpattern from ____/ to ____ ...

lightpattern plate in a US spec bi xenon projector

lightpattern plate in a euro spec bi xenon projector...note the additional strip that can be moved up...

euro light pattern

UK lightpattern

US lightpattern

Hey Steve,

Will you ever be getting in any Eurospec bi-xenons for the coupe?
