You can run normal lights with the setting on present or not present.

I am here at Steve's place, Kraft German Auto. He will do it while you wait for $150 a car.
Brooklyn is not that far away.
Give him a call at (718) 451-2500
Tell him Eddie sent you!

Joe, I think you and I should try to contact each of these dealers to see if they can help us out. I will print this list out and start calling tomorrow before I leave for Italy. Keep me posted on the forum about your findings and vice versa, someone's gotta be able to do it. EuroPimp aka Steve said that Ray Catena does it because the guy who hosts his stays in NY had his Bi-Xenons done there. Thanks man!
I don't think Princeton would have offered to do this...they wouldn't do any modifications I've offered to pay for (sways/bushings, Audio 10 or MB-Sirius heads), citing the car didn't come with those part numbers and the liability would fall on them, also voiding factory warranty on the entire car. (The service manager there is a dweeb - he contacted MBUSA when I installed the phone in my coupe - asking them to void the warranty on electronics)

Give Kraft a call. He is not the dealer. He is the number one dealer alternative for everything Mercedes.
I have been using him since 1990. Never a complaint.

Bi-Xenon / high-beams

Does the xenon projector tilt up when it's on high beam? I notice the light undergoes auto leveling when the car is started up, but I can't tell if the light moves up on high beam or not (without help of someone activating the high beams for me). What makes our lights bi-xenon instead of xenon anyway? I thought bi-xenon meant xenons in driving light and high beam light. I noticed there's a bulb in the same housing as the parking light that comes on on high beam but the colour of that light looks halogen...

some slow@$$diesels
bi xenons have a regular xenon buls for dimmed light and halogen lightbulb for high beam..In addition bi xenons have a tilting plate in between of the xenon reflector and xenon projector lens that flips down when high beam is activated leaving a bigger opening for the bi xenon light to get out...

greetingz,

If you have factory Bixenons then it should auto level, If you installed it afterwards it will not AUTOLEVEL becuase you don't have tilt sensors installed in your car.

hmmm, you should see the xenons level themselves everytime you start the car. can't help ya there.
___
and yes, xenons should have a ___/ pattern. it's higher on the right so you can see signs and such on the side of the road. and lower on the left so you don't blind oncoming traffic. when you flip on your brights, you'll notice it doesn't have a particular pattern other than full on super cool light brightening up everything. xenons rock.

Thanks guys for you help. So how do i know how my xenons are level? DO i need to just park in a garage and turn them on and just see if the line is straight? How does someone one self level these?

Sunman,

Off the subject, how much does it cost for the parktronic and is it hard to install?

If you want to do the whole system, it's not very easy. You will have to install the full harness, bumper harness for front and rear, sensors (10 of them) dash display, Control unit, and rear display with buzzer. I installed the rear first and wanted the whole system later on. YOu can ask Steve for all parts and he can get everything. I'm waiting on my parts as well from Steve for the whole system. I just have rear at the moment. If you are doing only rear, I may have some parts you can use. PM me.
