E200 or 520i for an outgoing C240?
due to d depreciation of our peso, both low end 5 and E already cost around US$72k, so what do u guys think is the best bang for d buck?????? both have more or less similar spec in terms of options-or the lack of it, and neither r even equipped with xenons and memory seats!!! my current C is even "more option laden with xenons etc....." than these two cars!!!!
yeah...u might b thinking y im moving down in terms of engine spec....the reason is simple....a bigger car say an E or a 5 with a comparable engine to my C240 would already cost around US$84k, thats a $12k premium!
my C has only 10,000miles , its a november 2001 model, flawless condition inside out, and im faced with a 35-40% depreciation over the original price. And to date, new car prices have risen by around 18%.
so is 35-40% reasonable???????????? or am i being ripped off by the dealer?
on the other hand, im also thinking of just keeping the car a little longer, and maybe just buy a better car than the E200 or 520i somewhere nextyear.
In my opinion, you're gaining, not loosing!

normally I'd recommend you to keep it Bruno, but then again, you've been on the board with numerous problems with the car...

the E class m271 only comes in E200k guise, its 1.8 4cyl kompressor with 160+hp with 240nm of torque,a little less powerful than the C240 V6.
after the 4cyl E200, next up in the range is the E240 V6 then the E320 V6 etc....theres no E230 4cyl.
But FYI, the c class m271 engine here comes in 3guises.... the C180K, C200K, C230K, u guys only get the C230k.
