I will check on my order. I am waiting on a 350 with 18" AMG wheels. Why can't they just get there act together before offering a car with options you can't have or are backordered? This doesn't make for happy or return customers!

I'm a little surprised too. Between the wheels, the multimedia package, only having one small initial batch to sell at launch and the awful lease rates, I really think anybody off the street could've handled this launch better logistically.
I was in line to buy one of the first because I was so excited about this product. Now I'm cooling my heels.
I can't imagine I'm the only one.
Dealer tried to give me the, 'better buy at this price, it's only going up and they're so popular there won't be any available for a long time.' Same cars he had last week are still there this week.

Someone at Mercedes needs to be fired. I used to think that with the W221 S-Class they were suffering from a battered image or mindset that made them think that demand would be low and for lightly optioned cars. Now after that debacle you would think they'd have C ready to go in which ever manner the market demanded. Mercedes still it seems hasn't ironed out their supplier problems. Still though I hardly think it will matter to 2 out of 3 buying this car right now.

wow your dealers are full of **** telling you that. How misleading! AMG wheels I was told, won't be available until November. Telling you that the price will go up is just a scam. What a joke MB only ships cars like once every 6weeks or something, they have some coming in Sept and then again in Nov I was told today
If your dealer is telling you to buy quick, I'd confront them. You can buy one off autotrader and have it shipped to your dealer for less than 800$

Well I've been waiting for an order confirmation for my 350 with 18 inch wheels since Monday. Maybe this explains why it hasn't come.
For those that have just ordered (or are about to order) a W204 with 18 inch rims, please post how successful you were in doing so and when you were told the car would arrive. Thanks.

Order
I ordered my C350 three weeks ago - it was the first allocation slot for my dealer.
By the way, it makes no sense that the 18" wheels are not available, since they are on most of the C300 sports that each dealer has already received.

Agree. I saw many C300 sports with AMG wheels but I don't notice whether this is 18" or not. I suppose AMG comes with 18" only, right?
They thought it's gonna be hot selling car, they're optimist on it regardless the fact how many they sell on a day. For that reason only, they hold the price on MSRP.

Well let's hope MB didn't ship all of their 18's over in the batches that are arriving at the dealers now...
I'm ok with the 17 AMG rims, but like the 18's better.
Anyone else have problems or success ordering 18's in the past week or so?

I will check for sure tomorrow. There really is no excuse for all this BS! We shouldn't be paying this much for a car and not being able to get a simple option such as a set of wheels or a multimedia package. Sorry I just needed to vent my frustration!!!!LOL

Actually the story is that the AMG wheels that they are present on the first batch of cars and they had a little left over for those who were quick enough to order them. Production of the wheels were postponed for whatever reason. The earliest resumption of production was slated for November, and if you call MBUSA customer service, they are not even available as an option anymore. That is, the option doesn't even show up on their computer system. Then I heard that production of those wheels are postponed indefinitely.
The lady at MBUSA, 800-367-6372 option 4, said that the only wheels available were the 17-inch 7-spokes that no one seems to like. She said that there were no other options and I can log in an official complaint of dissatisfaction. So I did and she logged the complaint into the computer system.
I thought that was an exercise in futility and a waste of my time. However, 3 hours later, someone from MB, a higher level, called me and seemed genuinely interested in my complaint. I told her that there are a lot of C300 fans out there who ordered their cars or are contemplating it, but we are all upset about the ugly 17" wheels as the only option. I told her that there are unhappy customers from coast to coast and there was talk all over the internet about it. She said that she'll call me back within a week if there is anything that can be done to remedy the problem.
I think that if they get inundated with similar complaints, by us folks for starters, maybe we can get the wheel problem remedied. I told her that my dealership experience was positive and that they were "very nice." She seemed very receptive to that so I didn't come across as some angry complainer. I urge people to be the same way and that might send a positive message to MB that we would like more wheel options. Just an idea, and the worst thing that can happen is absolutely nothing except that we have to go aftermarket for wheels, and the best thing is that we can all get a few choices before our cars roll off the assembly line.

I went to my dealer yesterday and he reconfirmed that he could get me the 18inch wheels for my 350. For me it wasn't even a deal breaker because it comes with AMG wheels standard, just 17 inches. I could have gotten the P2 instead of the 18 inch wheels.
Still he said he could still order them as of yesterday. My order goes in today so we'll see if he calls back.

Went to the dealer today and they didn't know anything about the wheels not being available. They said it shouldn't be a problem to get what I ordered on it. I ordered a month ago in one of there first order slots and was told that it was not built as of yet. Oct/Nov delivery. Why does it take so long to build a car? SH*T!
