Don't understand what you're asking here? Each and every Mercedes is built for speed or the open road more so than say your typical American or Japanese car. A new C-Class is like what a baby S-Class would be in terms of speed/feel on the road.

Please define 'Speed Car'..

You have the previous data to base reliability as these are too new to tell.

Grip is relative, what are you coming from?

2008 C350
If by speed car you mean 350 hp and kicking tail off of the line, the answer is there are other options available with more muscle and quicker acceleration. If you mean does it perform well at the high end of highway driving speeds (80-110 mph) the answer is yes.

If you want a sports car this isn't for you. If you want a nice car with 300+ hp under the hood, go with the Infiniti. If you want an MB with more kick than the base C300, this is your car.

It is not as quick as a 335i but actually is pretty good. Six seconds is quick. The handling is as good as a 335i in my opinion - I have a 335i also.

How fast do you want to go? If you want decent speed, excellent road handling and level of comfort then the C350 is your car. If speed is your only/main criteria then you should consider a BMW.

The car may be limited to 155mph, if you find this to be insufficient, you can always have the limitation removed, allowing approx 165 mph. The car will be extremely compitent and stable at these speeds.

I'm still in the break-in period, but when I needed to punch this black sucker earlier to pass (lane merged, freeway construction) 3 cars on the lane immediately to my left, I was soo impressed!

I have driven several different models (including the new W204) with speed limitation removed.

C350 Sports is a good balance between peformance, handling and luxury; but if it is power and speed that you really want...then opt for either a C55AMG or wait for the C63AMG.
That will give you some bragging rights too. Good luck.

They are governed at 130 mph in the US. You can remove the governor if you really need to go faster then that.

Just check your tire rates before do that. It should be W rated or better.

My C300 has H rated tires which is good for 130 mph.

I wonder if they purposely set the governor to match the tire speed rating. Looks like it.

Yes, it is a cost-saving measure for the US market. Even more sad that the W140 V12 cars had the same limitation/tires in the 90s.
