Since there seems to be a lively debate on Parktronic

I've parked cars for years without parking aids so why would I need an electronic gadget to tell me how to park now?!

The same reason I and millions of other people have driven for years without having an accident but still like to have insurance.

I see parktronic as the cheapest insurance you can possibly buy, parktronic will pay for itself if it prevents even one scratch or ding.

Nobody "needs" anything more than air, food, and water.

Which is why I personally do not like to differentiate between needing and wanting.

I would have ordered Parktronic for the C350 had it been available as a factory installed option. The photos I have seen on the W204 (dealer installed) did not appeal to me at all.

No. Better to learn how to drive / park. Of course the most ridiculous system is that on the Lexus 460 where the car parallel parks itself.

I was hoping to get parktronic on my next car. Unfortunately, it won't make those parallel parking in front of you or behind you any better at it. At least you'll stay off their bumpers.

+1. Although neither should be a substitute for good driving.

So how would a backup camera make the car more like a TV station? Are you aware that the COMMAND systems outside of the US play DVDs?
