just because there's pix on the website doesn't mean people don't want to see actual pix of YOUR car. you would get a much better response if you included some.

I can't believe some folks today sheesh, My wife was driving a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT sedan and occasionally my 2005 Dodge 2500 4x4 QuadCab Turbo Diesel. If I surprised her with anything brand new, she would be thankful. If I brought home the top of the line C Saks Fifth Edition and all and she told me to get rid of it, well I think I would be keeping the car at that point and getting rid of....well..........

Bought my wife a new C350
Certainly wouldn't be the fact that she knows you drive the car one step under an SLR would it???

Women at the nail salon, "Oh honey, you gotta push for an S class!! Tell him the whole "I just don't like the interior" line. Works everytime"

Wish we could try an experiment. Pull up in a new SL with the top down with the SAME exact interior and tell her, "Well I was gonna trade for this, but it's the only interior they had......bummer"

Did you tell her proceeds from the Saks C350 go towards helping women's cancer research?!

PS. Post some pictures of that interior, many of us would like to see - the details on the website aren't very detailed.

Please do this and let us know how it goes...I wonder if the interior would somehow not be as offensive in a S650.

I know what it is, she does not like it because it does not have PII, the bi-xenons are a deal breaker.

My wife would probably buy a car based on this premise alone, shes that kind of person. Any woman that wouldn't be happy with a C350 SFA deserves to be driving a teal Aveo 5-door with no hubcaps

Thanks for the comments...actually she now thinks the whole Fn car is ugly now that she saw it during the day. So do my 2 kids, one a 13 girl, one and a 7 year old boy. One line that cracked me up from my seven year old. " Dad what were you thinking"!!!!!!!!!!!! The look on his face as he was saying it was priceless.

I happen to like it. It's not an "S" but for the money it's a great value. I do wish it had the P2 and Xeons but the interior is striking. At the end of the day that where you live when driving a car and 70% of the time you drive your car during the day. Hell I'll just keep it and drive as a daily driver and **** them all off. But if someone is interested again PM me. BTW the car has the paint, interior and glass protection and has the windshield insurance as well. Oh and just to make it a little more annoying only SF Bay area folks need PM.

Well, Zip, you've got more troubles than just the car, seems to me. But, my dealer has a Saks car on the floor which I looked at yesterday and considering that I have been complaining about the black interiors for months, this black and tan interior is very attractive. Matter of fact, if P2 was included, I might just buy that one instead of my red C300 which is STILL at the VPC. Black paint and all.

Yep, I agree. That Black and Tan interior looks as good as Black and Tan in a pint glass damn tasty! If only it had the p2 package. Can't live without the xenons. I told the dealer to make sure to forward my suggestions to Mr. Mercedes, he promised he would, I took his word for it. So if you see a change next year thank me.

Black and tan interior looks very nice. I probably would have considered it myself, but the P2 also put me over the edge. Not that I truly need it, but the wifey wanted it.

RLE, how long has the car been at the VPC? Mine still hasn't even gotten on a boat on its way to Jacksonville....was built almost 2 weeks ago.

<<RLE, how long has the car been at the VPC? Mine still hasn't even gotten on a boat on its way to Jacksonville....was built almost 2 weeks ago.>>

My car arrived at the California VPC last Monday, far as I can tell. There are other VPCs, Jacksonville being another. The auto carrier my car was on (Graceful Leader), after leaving Bremerhaven, stopped at Southhampton, Jacksonville, San Diego, and Long Beach before offloading at Port Hueneme.

As of yesterday (Thursday) the car was still there.

In the meantime, I've been restoring my C320 to stock, removing modifications I've done to it. The last thing to come out will be the Valentine 1 wiring, next week.

I like it as DD so I'm going to keep it. It will keep some miles off my S65 and out of the upcoming rainy season. One thing though, when compared to the S65 you would think the C350 was built by another completely different car company...P2 or no P2.

I think the seats (front and back together) in the S65 with all they do costs more than an entire C350 fully loaded.

So what's your point the C350 is hell of a lot cheaper than a S65, I could say the same when you compare the SLR McLaren to the S65 it would feel like it was built by another company. The C Class serves it purpose and is a very nice car and best of all my wife loves her new C200K.

Sorry to disagree with you both, but I think the one thing that can be said for MB is that no matter what model or from what era, it always feels like a MB. Keep in mind that in the US this is harder to recognize, since smaller models are often seen as "cheaper" and have far less available options than in Europe. A diesel CLS (320-CDI) or E420 CDI fully equipped in Europe costs about 30% more than a CLS/E63 in the US, or the same as an S/CL600.

I doubt it is the seats, they can be had on many models elsewhere.

I'm quite sure the S65 has some very impressive features....massage seats would be an option I'd love to see in the C. I'd pay for that one...

It cracks me up when people take messages on these car forums so personal. I am glad your wife likes her C whatever. I was just making an observation. The C is a great car for the money. Remember, I bought one and own one. No complaints so far. I do hope the seven years they claim on TV they spend developing the car provides a quality and reliable car over the long haul. That's all I expect from any MB at the end of the day and is why I have drove MBs for the last 12 years.

I think this thread has worn out it's intent. The point of the thread is no longer relevent. Good Luck to all.

I find it interesting that your kids side with your wife....

I remember growing up, whatever my dad said/thought was the law! And my mom, well, she cooked really well.

I'm totally kidding. Kinda..

I wish MB would expand their interior color choices. The Sahara/Black combination in the Saks edition car is gorgeous. BMW offers a similar color combo in the 3-series coupes/cabrios, except their seats have an orange tint. I posted in a different thread that Mercedes used to charge customers a special order fee for any options that were not regularly included on the car, including paint colors, interior colors and various options. The fee was $1,000-1,500. Wish they'd bring that back.
