This is on all US C300's with 6 speed manual's...I love it...even though after driving stick for 10 years I can start on a hill without a problem.

I drive a 2013 ML350
09 C class

I work for a dealer, and the new 09 C Class will have optional memory seating, some new interior color combos. Haven't heard about paddle shifters, however. My 2 cents.

All C-Classes, automatic or manual, have this feature including mine delivered last October.

It doesn't calculate anything. If you are stopped on an upslope, foot on the brake, the brakes are held on after pedal release for about two seconds and then they release. If you don't get moving at that point, the car rolls back.

In grander MB models than the C, the brakes are held until the accellerator is pressed which would be a big improvement.

My 2005 C-Class holds the car until you press the gas pedal but only when the trans is in Comfort mode. In Sport it will allow the car to roll backwards. Try putting it in Comfort and see if it holds the car until you press the gas.

Same here on my C320 CDI. Still in breaking in mode and therefore in confort mode. Car holds in steep hill until you press the accelerator.

Any chance of getting luxury and/or cognac on the C350?

To clarify my earlier comment: power mirrors will be available on the 09 as part of the Premium 1 package: like it has been for the 2008. My car is scheduled to arrive late July early August. This information has been confirmed with 5 different dealers so far.

I tested this theory today on a steep hill near my home. While in C mode, I came to a stop in gear holding the brakes. Released the brake pedal and sure enough, two seconds later the brakes released and the car rolled back.

Switched to S mode and performed the same test and the result was the same.

I assume your W203 2005 has the 7-speed auto trans which should operate the same as the W204. BTW, my 5-speed auto in MY W203 C-320 did not have hill start assist in any configuration.

Maybe you should find a steeper grade and check your results again because I found that in C mode on a slight grade, idling in 2nd gear can prevent a rollback even though the brakes are off.

They probably discontinued the feature with the W204. My car is a 2005 facelift W203 with 4Matic and the 5-speed trans. It definately holds the car on any hill if in comfort mode, it does not hold at all in sport.

This is not correct, at least as regards European Delivery. My 2009 C350W was ordered in late May, and the build and delivery dates are 8/10/08 and 9/8/08, respectively. The EDP Order Confirmation from MB HQ was complete except for the pricing which I was told will not be out until early July. but The dealers have not been pre-advised to expect any significant increases for the C class models.

The dealer used the Dealer Ordering Guide to identify the changes between the 2008 and 2009 models. I am going back to the dealer next Wednesday to finalize the interior options (inserts and wood paneling) based on recently available interior photos spreads. Because of the 8/10/08 build date I only have a short time to finalize the order before the vehicle ID is generated and further changes are not normally permitted.

Looks like it's not good time shopping for a C in July or August. New cars are not out yet and old ones are running out of options...

Bad luck for me, I need to get one C in late July, and I gtta have black wood interior + pano roof and Grey/Black interior with either steel grey or paladium silver exterior.. If bad luck none of those in stock , i d have to pick either an Is or a G35.

I'm not sure why they are telling you this, but maybe you should visit another dealer.

The new 2009 is supposed to be realeased in mid July so I don't think that it should be too hard to find what you want. Have you visisted a dealer to either claim one of the first 2009 models? If you want the black wood, then you will have to get a C350. Finding a C350 with pano and one of the colors you mentioned shouldn't be too hard, they are all pretty popular for dealers too stock.

thx, I know the new C is supposed to come as early as in mid July. But plz help me here is it going to be on an order-one-build-one base for how long or like mass new Cs actually coming in dealers' pool.

I checked with four different dealers(I am moving in a month to another city that is far from where I live now) and I counted at the location there are about six 08 C350 they have that might satisfy my need. But I don't know if those babys are still gonna be available within a month ( (considering those dealers might push to sell the last to whoever at a whatever price) There are some other C300 but I really want one with dark wood trim.

I cant' visit one of those dealers of course and sign a contract or something(for the distance) so I plan to bet on my luck..

Aluminum is still available as far as I know, its just that Burl Walnut will be offered as an option for the sport sedans.

Good to hear. I really dislike light wood colors. I couldn't only stand the black tyep one available in the 350, otherwise I like the aluminium.

However, good they have choices for those with other tastes. Thats what it is all about.

2009 C350 4Matic for US?

My lease is coming up on my E and since the W212 won't be out for over I was considering the C. Any chance of a C350 4Matic for the US in 2009?

Well I went back to the dealer today and finalized the technical specifications for my C350W order. The dealer had printed out the applicable pages of the online version of the Dealer's Ordering Guide, and so I was able to see what the "real" changes for 2009 were. Summarize and quoting from the this ordering guide:

1. Driver's Side Memory with Power Steering Column and Tilt-Down Reverse Passenger Mirror added to Premium 1 Package (standard C350)
2. 18" AMG Wheel Option (code 786) now with All-Season Performance Tires (also available for C300 Sport 4MATIC. Delayed availability.)
3. Integrated Compass in Rear View Mirror replaces Power-Folding Mirrors in Premium 1 Package (standard C350)
4. Burl Walnut Wood Trim Option (code 731) now also available for Sport Sedans
5. Almond/Mocha (code 115/215) Interior replaces Cashmere/Savanna (code 104/204)
6. New tone Grey/Black Interior (code 118/218)

Thats all folks, no change to exterior colors, nor engine power boosts, nor factory installed iPhone integration option.

Pricing is still blank on the order confirmation; best guess is early July for pricing information.

My next trip to the dealer will be to pay for the car and the optional EDP Black Forest Rally trip package (less sales taxes and registration) NLT that 8/08/08. Presumably the pricing will be out by then.

Todd

One question, is the new "Almond/Mocha" combination available on the Sport models?
