2009 C-Class
It does not make any sense if they just let you have burl wood option but not the dark maple on C300 sporty sedan. The lighter burl wood does not fit the sporty interior. Last edited by sunjot; Jun 17, 2008 at 01:44 AM.
MBUSA told me they were replaced with a rear view mirror compass and the memory seats. I'm kinda pissed cause the dealer didn't even ask me what options i wanted on my 09
they just gave me what ever was ordered wit the 08.

Why is MB holding these specs back? From my understanding there are 2009 already in production for the US, how are dealer's suppose to do business when they can not answer simple questions on exactly what the specs and price are going to be on a car that is due to me on the lots in the next 30-45 days?

It is a matter of fact that you can find more advance information in forums such as this even before you learn something from the saleman.
6spdbenz, when is your car scheduled for production? If it's within a couple of weeks they can usually get it changed in the system.

The reason for the confusion is because we don't have access to these guides and also many salespeople are not up to date on their product knowledge. MB corporate really has no incentive to sell a 2008 vs. a 2009 model C-Class, however the dealer might have incentive to move an 08 before an 09. As of right now, I would bet that all 2008 model year C-Classes are either at the dealers or already ordered, built and paid for by the dealers. Now the burden is on them to sell the product since they own it and are paying financing on their "floorplan". This is one reason why a dealer might not openly push a 2009 model year car on a customer when there are still 2008s to be sold. Every car dealer MB or otherwise always wants to sell something off the lot rather than place an order. Also let's face it, 90% of customers want to buy off the lot. It's only the enthusiasts like us who care about options and minor details and are willing to wait.
If anyone here is in the process of ordering or wants to get a 2009 C-Class or any model for that matter, I suggest you find a salesperson who is willing to spend the time to show you what has changed and what has not by going over the guide with you. Simply tell them that you want to consult the ordering guide while you are there. They will probably not give it to you, but they absolutely should be willing to walk you through the information if you are interested. If they aren't then I suggest you find another salesperson or another dealer.
