It does not make any sense if they just let you have burl wood option but not the dark maple on C300 sporty sedan. The lighter burl wood does not fit the sporty interior.

It may not make sense, but this is what I have heard. Also there is nothing that "sporty" about the Sport interior. Seat pattern is slightly different, and there is a silver shifter instead of leather, different steering wheel, and silver around dials. Nothing that incredible.

I really want the folding mirrors for my 09 anything i can do dealer wise, since the car is coming and i have yet to work out payments or anything. Do you thing they can change them before i get the car?

MBUSA told me they were replaced with a rear view mirror compass and the memory seats. I'm kinda pissed cause the dealer didn't even ask me what options i wanted on my 09 they just gave me what ever was ordered wit the 08.

The dealer probably won't put on anything that isn't considered factory, but it is certainly possible. Many people have upgraded their non-folding mirrors to power-folding mirrors. If you haven't signed any paperwork then see what you can do, everything in the world is negotiable. If it comes to doing something non-factory or losing the sale, maybe they will do the non-factory thing. You just won't have the warranty probably on those mirror pieces.

wow, so much information back and forth. When is MBUSA going to release the official US specs for the 2009?

I am new to the MB brand, and am not sure if this is typical of them to hold info back so long.
Why is MB holding these specs back? From my understanding there are 2009 already in production for the US, how are dealer's suppose to do business when they can not answer simple questions on exactly what the specs and price are going to be on a car that is due to me on the lots in the next 30-45 days?

Maybe its their tactic to holdback information for as long as possible (even till sales introduction dated of the 2009 models), hoping that they move out all their 2008 stocks first.

It is a matter of fact that you can find more advance information in forums such as this even before you learn something from the saleman.

No power-fold mirrors for 2009...

6spdbenz, when is your car scheduled for production? If it's within a couple of weeks they can usually get it changed in the system.

No word on pricing yet, and no mention the power folding mirrors will be deleted here like USA.

Canadian C300 don't get pano, 08 or 09. This is one feature US is better than Canada, but total score is still 11-2 i/f/o Canada for MY08. Do a search for my 08 Canada-US comparison.

It's not their tactic to hold back information. All of this information is readily available to the dealers. Mercedes has something called the dealer ordering guide which is online and accessible by the dealers. The guide shows all options, features, specs, etc. I have seen the DOG for many previous model years and they even have a section right in the beginning that states what is new and what has been "deleted" as they call it for the model year.

The reason for the confusion is because we don't have access to these guides and also many salespeople are not up to date on their product knowledge. MB corporate really has no incentive to sell a 2008 vs. a 2009 model C-Class, however the dealer might have incentive to move an 08 before an 09. As of right now, I would bet that all 2008 model year C-Classes are either at the dealers or already ordered, built and paid for by the dealers. Now the burden is on them to sell the product since they own it and are paying financing on their "floorplan". This is one reason why a dealer might not openly push a 2009 model year car on a customer when there are still 2008s to be sold. Every car dealer MB or otherwise always wants to sell something off the lot rather than place an order. Also let's face it, 90% of customers want to buy off the lot. It's only the enthusiasts like us who care about options and minor details and are willing to wait.

If anyone here is in the process of ordering or wants to get a 2009 C-Class or any model for that matter, I suggest you find a salesperson who is willing to spend the time to show you what has changed and what has not by going over the guide with you. Simply tell them that you want to consult the ordering guide while you are there. They will probably not give it to you, but they absolutely should be willing to walk you through the information if you are interested. If they aren't then I suggest you find another salesperson or another dealer.

I just went through the process of ordering a 2009 and agree that they were able to tell me what was new (dealer actually called MB corp while I was sitting there to confirm memory seats, steering column, & mirrors as well as upgraded HD for Command system, (did not discuss loss of power folding mirrors just assumed they would still be there)). The problem I am having is the 2009 pricing not being available to the dealers. I have spoken with 10+ different dealers during my ordering process and they all advised that pricing is not available to them as of this week. I wrote the deal based on invoice pricing, but really do not know even today how much I am going to pay.

My car was produced on 06-09-08 but it was ordered as a 2008 in feb, then it was pushed back by the factory in Germany and thats when the problems started because the dealer ordered a 2008 with a 6speed tranny and when the factory changed the order to a 2008 they added the auto 7speed. So now i had to piggy back on an existing order and change it before it was set for production in about a week or so. I saw the order form on the "netstar" that the dealer uses it just has option numbers and the ones you can select and deselect no real info.

Look what they have in England

The 6-speed manual transmission - standard on all 4-cylinder models and 6-cylinder C 230 – offers an exhilarating drive with its short-throw action. It also includes Hill Start Assist, an invaluable feature that helps you move off with ease on an uphill gradient without rolling backwards. The instant your foot moves from the brake pedal to the accelerator, Hill Start Assist calculates whether the starting torque is sufficient and, if necessary, applies the brake momentarily.

I want this in the US all the other countries have such better cars.
