W204 Bulb size/style/part# list

I think we should get a bulb list going. Its always a classly and cost effient mod to upgrade the blubs in the car to a hyper white style look. In order to make this easy for everyone list the following information that you have in this order. I would ****** the information off of other posts but I am not sure as to how accurate they are. If you are sure of a previous post where you have listed similar information please re-group it according to the specs below and add it for your fellow W204'ers. haha. W204'ers.....

1.Where does the bulb fit in the vehicle
2.Size/style/part #
3.approx M.S.R.P.
4.Good place to find them, URL's pref.

This is what I've collected so far from the forum .....

D1S Xenon Headlight
H7 Inner Hi beam
H7 Fog
W5W or 194 for city light (4 bulbs needed)
W5W or 194 for amber reflector on the wheel well
The signal lamp uses the 3857A bulb type
The license plate uses the 194 bulb

Note: in some cases the manual is wrong (e.g., it says that the fogs are h11.

NB: 168 is same as 194 bulb type

I've recently replace all of my interior lighting with Polarg bulbs, which nicely matches the stock LED front map lights.

Luckily all but one are the 194/5W5 wedge bulbs:
- Front foot wells (2 bulbs total)
- Lower door panel/puddle lights (4 bulbs total)
- Front dome lights (2 bulbs)
- Rear map lights (2 bulbs)
- Vanity mirror lights (2 bulbs)
- Glove box (1 bulb)
- Trunk interior, not including trunk lid (1 bulb)

So you will need a total of 14 wedge bulbs to do the interior -- you could often find Polarg bulbs sold in larger quantities on eBay.
The only bulb that's different is the rear dome light which is a festoon bulb (the long cylindrical bulb that has contacts on both ends), which I replaced with LEDs.

I would like to replace the LEDs that illuminate the interior door handles from amber to white as they are barely noticable. It doesn't look like you could access it easily, so you may need to take the interior door panel off.

From what I understand, it depends on if you have P2 or not. The corner-illuminating fogs use different bulbs from the ones that do not. At least that's what I've read. Someone can chime in and verify that.

Do you know if 194 LED bulbs would work for the interior lights? I would rather replace them with LEDs instead of just hyper white bulbs.

I originally wanted all LED interior lighting as I had it in my previous car and loved it.
I tried all kinds of 194 LED bulbs including Hoen LEDs but they do not work. Because of the very low electrical draw and sensitivity the bulbs stay on all the time and they occasionally flicker.
I think the Polarg bulbs is a very good alternative to LEDs and they are actually brighter. LEDs tend to be dim as the light output is directional and doesn't provide a good beam spread.

i was planning on buying inverted ones, since they shine like regular bulbs. i guess i'll be buying some polarg's then. so 20 bulbs total i'll be needing. (interior and eyelids and license plate). Thanks for the input.

Hi! I've ordered 4 from these for my low beams:
PIAA XTREME WHITE 5W

What do U think about them? Are the same for the interior lighting and license plate 2 lights? 14!! I'm going to buy some other for my interior, PIAA is very expensive to buy that big bunch!
For my indicators, I'm planning to order those as I can't reach Stealth from here:
Philips Silvervision

ThanX

hey guys,

call me crazy but I just noticed those little orange lights on the inside door handles. Do we know what bulbs those are? has anyone changed them? I'd love to make them white if its possible. I'm sure it is. Any info would be appreciated.

James - is the yellowish ambient bulb found in the rear view mirror replaceable and if so what type of bulb is it?

Can you please tell me how you replaced those interior bulbs. I was trying the vanity mirror ones, and was trying to pull the covers out but couldn't. I did not want to exert too much force in case I broke it or some clips.

And the footwells ones - do you have to remove the protective panel first, or can you just pull the bulb cover?
