Freakin' Fog light
Washing the car yesterday and found the passenger's side fog light lens with a nice stone shot in it. Full of condensation from washing the car. Now I get to find out what my local dealer charges to replace one.
I have a clear bra, but nothing on the fog or headlights. Guess I'll close that barn door now that the horse has gone.

In a previous post- they said the foglight replacement was quoted at $350. Another post showed prices from $100-$150 (most likely part only) Sorry to hear about your bad luck but that is why I just installed lamin-x lens protection.

That happened to me too
Cracked fog light. the dealer quoted something like $375. I ordered the part myself for around $115 and installed it too. 2 hex bolts to remove the mounting place from the front bumper (from the outside even) then twist the bulb and replace it. So simple it made me realize how jacked up the dealer can be sometimes.

Was this on your CLK or on a W204? I'm fairly mechanical, but haven't yet looked at how my foglight's installed.

I remember my mother (a few years back) nailed a cat with her C320... cracked the fog light but nothing else and it ran her $350 roughly. Definately a do-it-yourself type of thing if you are so inclined. PS - the cat ran away and we've seen it in the neighborhood since... Figures

Hmmm. My "clear bra" installation included headlight and foglight protection.
$699.

I work at a Porsche/Audi dealer and had the "bra" installed for our cost but at the time, the kit available to the installer did not include head or fog light coverage. Of course, now that my fog's cracked, the additional coverage's available. Just my luck.

To minimize damage when the rocks come from above rather than below. You may recall my recent experience, posted here, where a landscape truck sprayed out gravel on I5 in Tacoma. It created rock chips in the exposed portion of the hood, and some on the windshield.
These cars are rock magnets. I can't count how many rocks have rolled across my hood. Trucks lose rocks all the time, and they land on the hood.
If I ever replace this clear bra it will be with a full hood version.

just had the glass on my fog lamp smashed by a pebble or something. the light works fine, but isn't protected anymore so i'm sure it won't be long before another pebble does it in.
anyone know the part # for the P2 fog lamps?

I also had the fog lense broken by a pebble on my W204, but the bulb remained intact. I took it to the dealer, and they told me that MB does not sell the lense cover by itself, and must replace the entire fog light assembly. Quoted $300 for part/installation.
Has anyone had success replacing the fog lense unit on their own?
