Does anyone know how to Reset Service indicator for 2008 C300?
I called my local dealer and asked.. and they said it was against policy to tell anyone.. so they could do it for me for 52 bucks.. what a rip off. I had a C230 and I was able to reset the service indicator on that one because it had a reset button that u can actually push in.. when u turn the key to the ON position then hold that reset button then turn off then back on.. it worked.
has anyone tried on the 2008 models??

Ha ha this is going to sound like a wasted post but somewhere on this board someone posted how to get into the service menu to reset it. Something about holding the mute button and something else on the steering wheel. There are quite a few people here changing their own oil so someone will post soon I imagine.

Secret Menu
********Make sure your door is closed*********
1.Turn your ignition in first position
2.Press and hold the accept call button for 5 seconds and while pressing press the ok button on the steering wheel.
3.If needed after releasing the two buttons press ok once more.
This should allow you to reset and it also the secret way to completely disable ESP (not recommended unless you want to spin out of control and burn through your tires). Be careful!
I claim no responsibility for any damages to car, people, or personal property

I tried this and had no success. ??? So I put the ignition in the first position and then pushed the call button and the ok button on the steering wheel at the same time and nothing happens. Can some one help?

Go to this link its for deactivating the esp but works also for reseting your service data.
Its a hidden menu that pops out if you follow the intructions of the video.

Close Door.
Key in Ign.
Turn key to 1st position.
Press both Phone answer & OK button on Steering wheel simultaneously.
Wait 5 seconds.
Good luck from Aussi.

Everyone who has tried this step by step and follows the directions precisely gets it to work. I just got up (arm in splint/sling from major shoulder surgery) went out to my car and entered the Vehicle System Data screen which also had the option for the dynamometer mode to turn off traction control for Dyno testing. A while back I was messing around and tried for like 20 minutes and was very frustrated because I had done this before with success. I finally shut the stupid door and everything worked. I don't think it has anything to do with when you bought your car (my build date was Nov 07 in Germany).

Service screen

Well, not quite everyone. I too cannot bring up the screen using the instructions posted. Even though my car is fairly early (9/07 production) it seems unlikely that would be a factor. I will inquire at my dealer this week and they will tell me.
