The interactive manual I linked to is from the international MB site. Having said that, I did go to MBUSA to see if they link to a different one, and they have all of those links locked up behind the owners login ... so if you have one of those, log into the site and see if they link to a different one.

since we are talking about speedometers here is one although it is just useless info. I came from an s2000(i miss it already!!!) but it only had a digital tach and noticed it never travelled 1 mph. so naturally i set my guage to display the digital mph and noticed that it also doesn't go 1 mph
completely useless info, but try it and see if you can get it that slow, hahaaha. 1 mph doesn't exist.

Yeah, it's there. You have to scroll down one page from the KM setting in the odometer. If you look in the display you will see a little down arrow indicating that there is another screen to access. When you switch it over the temperature display moves up over the horizontal line in your display and the KM/Hr is shown where the temp was previously. I'll try to take a pic at lunch.

[QUOTE=trial0r;2896112]any interest in one of these? i know there are some things that our dealers didn't explain to us that i had to learn after the fact. it might be a good idea to have a running thread as we figure things out...
Vehicle Data can be obtained from the vehicles computer by closing door, selecting key to first position,& pushing phone answer & OK button together.
Then choose Vehicle Data & the vehicle amps & volts are displayed, This could possibly be useful if one is experiencing electrical problems.By scrolling down the list Vin & Engine numbers are also displayed. There are some information here that I do not understand. I would be grateful of enlightenment. Carsy.

10) Steps to Reset the TCU. Resetting the TCU will reset transmission to factory shift points and the car will 'relearn' your driving style.
(1.) Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position.
(2.) Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds.
(3.) Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.
(4.) Wait at least two minutes for TCU to reset.

I keep coins in there. You can also keep the lid closed. What's the big deal? (Serious question. Just curious.)
I never smoke in my car--just once, frustrated and in anger, on my drive home after the accident--because I like my car too much. But I do appreciate the ashtray. Dunno, I kinda feel like M-B is lookin out for "second-class citizens" like myself.
I'm gonna go try popping out the back ashtray right now. I didn't even know I had one.
I might've said this before, but I love karmann ghias, stick girl... classic shape. Love it, always wanted one.

I don't know if this qualifies as a "Secret" but if you have the vanity light on and unclip the visor to push it to the side the light goes out..... it's pretty lame, but it works LOL.

I guess when I had the BMW, it came with the option of the non-smoker's package. I didn't have the little cigarette stub (the thing that snuffs it out) in my way so I could maximize the space. I do keep it closed but I wish that I could do other things with it. I've put coins in there only to get my finger caught underneath that stub thing. I hear ya on the 2nd class citizen thing...I just wish that there was an option. And I didn't know there was one in the rear either...
Funny you should mention the Ghia...I sold it about 2 weeks ago. I bought it from someone near Berekely about 7 years ago. It still had the classic blue and yellow Cali tags, too. Going to school and working, I just didn't have the time to dedicate to the restoration project that I wanted to do on it. I really didn't want to get rid of her, but I am confident that she is with good owners - retired folks who want to dress her up and show her around.

I was actually surprised that the ashtray in the car was a real, proper ashtray (with the snub-out protrusion, etc) instead of the "fake" ones in most cars these days.
That'll be me one day, if there are any left in, say, twenty years.
Did someone already mention the button in the trunk that will let you out if ever you get stuck in there? It's supposed to stay lit for 30 seconds after the door closes, but I don't wanna test it out and confirm. I just read that in the manual while searching for M-B recommended tire pressures for 100+ MPH. There was a thread about that. Still no qualified, official answer.

Hum, if you had split rear seats you might be able to look in there and see if the light is on the button.
