C350 Clear side marker installation (additional step)
Hi C350 sport owner
unlike C300, we have additional steps to go through when installing the clear side markers. There is a screw holding the OEM lense to the black housing you need to unscrew to remove the lense. It's tricky. The space is very small. So, you need a pretty small L shape screw driving to do that job. Also, it's not a phillip or flat head screw. it's 6 lobe/star recess. Good luck to you all. I think the saler for the the clear side markers should give discount to C350 owners, cause we have to buy additional tools and spend much much more time to do the job.

the clear markers i got has no threads in the hole. They do fit, but of course, not gonna be "tight" like the OEM ones with screws. I am not exactly sure if the clear lense HOLE size is bigger than the screws. If not, you can definitely try screwing them in.

The clear ones with the chrome bulbs that I got do not fit perfectly tight against the fender. It was buggin at first but now I don't notice it as much. Probably cause I got a scratch on it in a parking lot so that's all I see now...
But I don't recall there being anything like you're describing when I installed them on my C350. Different lens manufacturer maybe?

that's a possibility. anyway, i actually ones with screws are better. So they can fit the bumper tighter and not fall out easily.

LOADED 08' C350 & 14' GLK-350 Diamond White (P1, MM, AMG Pkg, Ln Trkng, Htd Sts, Keylss Go)
this has nothing to do with whether it is a c350 or c300...
I have the c350 and i didnt have to use a screwdriver for my clears...
they also fit snugly jusyt like OEM... without screws...make sure you get the more expensive ones on ebay... the cheaper ones didnt fit right for me and i had to return them...
i picked my c350 up in october 2007, maybe the newer builds have screws....

Hi guys
i just did. ones with screws holding the lenses. You can screw them back into the clear lenses you got (even the holes don't have threads). Not really hard to do, just take some patience with the right L shape tool. It will hold the Clear marker in much tighter and guranteed never to fall out. No more wiggling

If you guys without screws see a hole in the housing unit and also see threads in the hole of the of the OEM amber lense, I wonder if Mercedes benz forgot to put screws in... ha ha, just a joke.

You think thats scary. A while ago a friend of mine owned a Jeep, purchased new no mods. I went to change his oil and was lying under the car when I looked at the passanger side leaf spring. The rear bolt was well over 3/4's of the way out. No thoughts I slid out real quick got out the floor jack and jack stands a quick run to the parts store for a new bolt with nut some locktite and it was fine for the rest of the time he owned the car. Also found a screwdriver behind the battery when I changed that for him don't know if it came from the factory or at the shop he had some work done. Looked old though.

ok, you gotta see if you have the screws holding the OEM lense to the rear black housing or not. If not, it's pretty easy to pop them out. If you do have the screws. you will need a small L shape Torx screw driver to take the screws out. very time consuming and hurts your fingers.
Putting them back in is tricky, too. You just gotta play with it a bit.
without screws.. about 20 minutes.
With screws... about 35 minutes.
