I'm a little surprised the ECU Tune only gives 12 torque and 10HP.

The ECU upgrade sounds about right for a naturally aspirated engine. I think the tune on these cars is really good form the factory. One thing I notice about chipping a non-turbo is the throttle response is improved.

That's like half the gains for twice the cost I'm getting from Speed Innovation ECU tune....
18HP and 24TQ. List price is $699 .
I'm in a group buy for $490 installed.
Also supposed to get 15% better gas mileage and yeah, throttle response is vastly improved.

In standard form, the C300 3.0 produces 228 hp and 221 lb.-ft.
Powerchip has a range of chips to suit your car, which can increase it's power to between 241 hp and 246 hp, and it's torque to between 234 lb.-ft and 238 lb.-ft.
The price of the Powerchip is USD $690.00.

so gains of 13-18hp, 13-17torque. Less than the ECU tune and more expensive. But at least it's a chip and you don't have to worry about dealership reflashing over your ECU. Speed Innovation does provide protection against that though and will reflash for free.

just talked to BEN at powerchip. he said their chip will get the numbers up to 284HP and 273 ft lb. is that higher or lower than Speed Inn? He also said he will do group buy discount.

hmmm, that's way higher than the ecu tune and pushing C350 range. That's not the advertised gains on the powerchip site though. +56hp +52torque is an AMAZING gain from this though. I'd like to know what kind of pricing and if that's including install cause if it's under the $690 range...$12/hp = win

i did with my E320 when i 1st got it. MB dealer never detected it.
are they able to? And even if they detected it. can we just deny we ever did anything to it?
