here are some pictures of the VATH body kit for C63.
The front lip looks pretty good. I wonder if it will fit on the regular C class.
The rear diffusor and spoiler aren't my taste... they stick out too much..

I would pay $1900 for 27 HP increase, but if I read it correctly it requires a higher grade of gas then we tryically see here in the US? Also, it is unclear to me if this is the increases based soley from an engine tune, or do you need to add other parts (ie. exhust) to get to the 295 mark?

I still think $1800 is a lot though... it's just hard to believe we pay probably 38000 for the whole car and they are charging $2000 for just a software.....

The front is awesome though.. i think it's prettier than the Euro teck one and probably won't cause the rubbing issue when lower the car.
Once again $1800 is crazy. Can someone out there make something similar?!!!!!!

I am highly considering the $1900 for this package as well as it's not outrageous IMO considering what we have for options. But it's all relative to what is important.

The 98 RON is equal to our 91 or 93 R+M octane.

This package is tune and air filters.

MKB offers similar power but is around $2300.

I have no idea why Renntech is only offering 10-12hp.

The second stage kit with cams for $8000 is crazy for a car likes ours but considering I used to spend thousands on wheels for my last vehicles I can justify the same or less amount on an extra 30hp.

well, you can go with Speed Innovation chip. 20 HP increase for only 1/4 the price.

the prices on those engine upgrades are so $$. when you add them up, you can probably get a C63 already. but can all those upgrades push a C350 to 450 hp?

LET is local to me as well and I may go that route. Plenty of time to think about things as the car will be parked for the winter in a few months anyways and we'll see what some more time and Spring brings.

I have no desire to compete with a big bore motor like the C63 and don't expect to. Car for car you are looking at $20k more. Quite a bit more than the $1900 for this ECU tune.

A person could be patient and wait a few years for used C63's but knowing how beat cars like that are it''s hard for me to pay $40k+. That's the reason I went with a new C350 over a used C55.

Oh, of course, 330 to 350 is a lot of power already! i think that will be super fast already. I can't imagine how fast 451 hp is....

It's more the money issue... all those money spent, but still the car can't get the same level of power.

But maybe some people don't have the money all at once to get the bigger engine car and just slowly do each upgrade. or maybe they just enjoy modifying the car.

Or a little of each. I can afford a C63 but I can't say I make enough to justify the depreciation. IMO a person would have to make well into the six figures to justify around $800 a month depreciation on a car that the C63 will suffer in it's first few years. That is a house payment in many areas(not mine unfortunately). At my age(mid 30's) I am more worried about a solid retirement plan and my family being secure than spending a big chunk of my check on a car that is bleeding money. A C350 is justifiable for my wages a C63 at $20k more is not.

Narky,
No listing for C300's but I'm sure there are or can be if you asked around and with some time. My opinion on the matter is it's hard for a power junky like myself to justify dumping money into power adders for a C350 yet being at a 40hp deficit with the 300. Learn when to say when and just move on to a higher hp car or accept what you have.

Dont know if there;s a dealer in the US but IC-Chiptuning makes software who gives the C350 the following, and here it's about $ 1100,00

Performance 200 kW / 272 hp to 212 kW / 288 hp
Torque 350 Nm @ 2500-5000 rpm to 370 Nm @ 2800-5000 rpm.
Top speed 250 km/h 285 km/h

They don't mention the C300, but there is an explanation about this...

The C300 doesn't excist here in Europe, we have the C230 and the C280, which doesnt excist in the US.

will the IC tuning ECU upgrade require opening and ECU box and breaking the seal? If so, it's just like any other ECU upgrade which will definitely void the warranty.

Not at all or anywhere near those amounts. I'd be a hypocrite if I did.

I'll share my info in another thread once I achieve what I want. I'm not one to speculate and will wait until proven information is available.

Is the Vath an ECU tune or a plug-in chip? If it is ECU does this mean that we would need to ship the unit to then in the EU or is there someone here is the US that it would be shipped to? If going to the EU, I would think you may be w/o a car for quite some time when you factor is the shipping time as well.

I wish MB would just offer a tune through the dealership that was mfg approved, did not impact warranty and was not cost prohibitive. I would gladly pay $2000 for another 30 hp from the factory.

My dealer offers RennTech ECU upgrade and said they are willing to cover the warranty. The reason is, the upgrade doesn't require opening up the block and replace the chip. it's a software flash just like how BMW doeks it. c So, check with your dealer. they may have something similar.

Is it the RennTech that gives you 10-12 hp increase, or is there a different one? How much is the flash through the dealer?

I didn't ask. I am pretty sure it's the same weak axx ECU upgrade.
they charge around $1800. probably get a 10% discount. But in my opinion. Not worth the money.
ECU upgrade of any kind will most definitely void the MB warranty. The reason this one is ok is because it's not an open box chip replacement and it's done at the dealer. So it's actually becomes a DEALER warranty.

The reason I am saying this is because. The accessory/aftermarket part manager told me. If something goes wrong and the ECU needs to be sent back to MB Germany. They will reflash the computer back to original before sending it.

I think it's OBD tuning, so they don't have to open your ECU but i don't know it for sure. May be you can contact them??

that rear defuser would look sweet on a C63 or regular C class for that matter.
