W204 used in the new A4 commercial!
That's great your friends like it, I think its terrible. The plastic dash reminds me of older 80s cars, its rough and terrible to clean as dust gets trapped in all the crevices.
I understand why MB changed, the interior on my w203 is not durable. Yet in making a durable dash, they make it look awful.
Now you can keep bashing my comments, or accept I think the W204 is terrible, you think its great, and we can move on.
newsflash, your on a W204 forum.. but sure we can move on,
i love the styling of the W204, it's new, aggressive and appealing.
you don't, the end.
The taste test challenge is a little different than Audi using a MB in their commercial. Not to mention, Pepsi and Coke have been battling it out since the 70's. Audi and MB do not have that relationship.
You seem to really hate the W204... Why do you waste your time on these forums?
the LED looked better on the R8 than the new A4
i reckon W204 look better in and outside even with the LEDs on the A4
they shoulved kept it on the R8
still the audi grill and the audi front and back, and theyre telling me they been changing cause of the LEDs??interior bits r ugly, lack of characteristic(excluding steering wheel), especially that push start, center screen, control joy stick, the aircon control bits etc, just like all other new cars imho it looks cheaper than W204 interior too
so where is the progress part? the LED???

I pulled the opinion card cause if I hadn't people would turn to bashing me, which is the exact thing being criticized in this commercial, and as much as it'd be funny to watch the hypocrits made that Audi bashed them, then turn and bash someone else, its actually kinda sad too.
So be glad I gave you a way out, I'm glad you took it.

The taste test is no different, it takes 2 similar brands and compares which a customer would prefer. That's all this commercial is doing. Perhaps Audi wants to start a rivalry, its been BMW vs MB for too long, its about time they stuck their nose in and caused a stir. Hopefully it'll challenge MB to better their product line.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
is that the base A4 with nav u posted?
Audi + nav compared to Benz without Nav
the pop-out screen looks nice on the W204
GDawgC220 is correct, you get the MMI screen with or without Nav. Its similar to BMWs iDrive.
ok ok I'm kidding.
These two are probably better pictures to compare against

With that being said, I do like the new A4 interior

That being said, Audi has always made nice interiors, ( I think ).
but im not running out to spend 40k on an Audi interior. Over all I think the better buy is the W204 but the Audi is a nice car too.
As for the commercial, I think the idea was kinda cool but, and it will work in simple minds. That is the whole point of a commercial. Will it work? Thats all.
As a very soon to be W204 owner, I thinks its cool that Audi see the goal as reaching MB status. That a very big compliment
. I dont think it was a dirty commerical cus they didnt bash MB, it simply a styaling point which is subjective anyway. And ya they used a base C with the classic grill. Thats cus they know the 230 with sport pack and 300/350, all look sick
Audi's are very stylish car, very modern looks but clean at the same time.
Thats why they show MB with classic grill. They are trin to brain wash people to think that MB isnt agressive.
Audi would like the public to view MB as an old mans car.

As being an owner of a C350, I do find the birdseye maple to compliment my interior very well. The good mix of mesh cloth material around the seems help create the softness of the cabin. Most complaints I've heard of the w204 is the C300's tacky aluminum interior. You still cannot beat the convenience of the car's buttons and how well they are laid out.
It seems that many car companies are doing this(noticed MB does it but less than others). Wait until Hyundai puts out their Genesis commercials out. I bet it will compare it to the E-Class in every commercial.
Regarding the new A4, I saw a base model demo yesterday at the dealership and it is definitely nicer than the current A4 model. However, the base model has some small wheels and the suspension sits very high and makes the car looks kinda odd. I am waiting for the S-Line version with the LED light (more like the commerial) in person to really judge the car. But if you compare the based model W204 (both sport and luxury) and the new A4 (B8) exterior, the W204 definitely looks TON better. However, it will be a tossed up if the new A4 looks like the new Audi S5 in four doors form.

Interior wise, it is a whole lot nicer than the current A4 and I would let you guys be the judge after you sit in one of those. Don't want to start a flaming war on this.
Regarding the price, the one I saw is A4 2.0T Quattro Tiptronic. The base price is $32K with about 3K options. I personally think it offers pretty good value for the money.

And in respect to the commercial, yea its a bit low of audi, but it is still a pretty good commercial from the marketing point of view, as well as being entertaining. Still love my C, but now considering the new A4 after seeing it. and I dont work for audi, or have a bias, because ive owned a 3 series, an a4 and 2 C classes.
As for the furniture comments, I'm an architect and I love the mid-century modern furniture used in the commercial. It is definitely not cheap plastic Ikea furniture and ironically are designed in the 50's.
I like Audi's, but they are way too common on the streets. Other reasons why I wouldn't get an A4 is because it has grown significantly in size (believe it or not it is almost identical in wheelbase and curb weight to the A6). And it is rather pricey at a starting price of $40,000 for the V6 (however the list of standard equipment is better than the C350).
