W204 used in the new A4 commercial!

W204 used in the new A4 commercial!
I saw the commercial for the new 2009 A4 while watching the Olympics opening ceremonies. Unfortunately it wasn't used in a positive way. The commercial shows an interior of a house that changes from old and traditional looking to modern and it later pans to a C300 Luxury in Sand Beige on the driveway which morphs to the new A4 in black with it's LED city lights shining brightly.
"Progress is Beautiful" is then flashed across the screen.

I think the BMW 3-series should be used instead, but I'd guess the traditional grille with the hood ornament of the C300 Luxury is a more traditional styling.

Indeed. A bit of a cheap shot from Audi inflicted to Mercedes.
I do have to say, that Audi A4 is quite nice from the front, I love the light signature. The only thing that stops me from considering an Audi is the very light steering.

wow!!!
they show a base c300 luxury which in my opinion is pretty ugly. Show a fully loaded c350 sport and that audi will not compare. BOO AUDI

Whatever there's gas in...
If you ask me, everything in the commercial looked like a downgrade, from the house interior that looked somewhat classic, and then it turned to an Ikea gallery...then to the BEAUTIFUL afghan hound...an lastly that beauty bearing the 3-Pointed star...way to go Audi..it would suck if it backfired on them and people went to the Audi dealers asking what that first car was.

well unless its an S4, the base Audi looks too family like, sure its bigger and more "practical" but it has lost its sport-compact look/feel which i actually prefer. now its just a family sedan in my eyes!

First of all - I do not like it when they put another brand down. 
I wouldn't mind having some of those antiques myself. (Sell them and buy a C63
) Anyway it looks like Audi is using the prestige Quatro model for comparison. Hmmm that model starts at $40.000.

The w204 styling is borrowed from classic box-y designs. The new 3-series, A4, IS, G37, all have new styling. The MB was probably specifically picked for this commercial as its different than the competition.
I'm buying an Audi next, MB styling on the W204 is terrible, especially the interior. I bought a w203 C230 rather an A4 cause of the terrible Audi interior and fantastic MB interior design.
To the "IKEA" comment, look at the majority of interiors on new homes, condos, ... and you'll find they don't look like how the commercial starts, more like where it ends.
Times have changed.

I beg to differ about the W204 styling, i get nothing but positive comments from friends, strangers on the new aggressive stance of the W204, it has really nice lines and good curb appeal ur one of the rare ppl who say that the W204 styling is "terrible"....in the other thread u praise the ISF exhaust, well as mentioned the 2 tips are not even real, or have any kind of purpose, thats just a posing!
That's great your friends like it, I think its terrible. The plastic dash reminds me of older 80s cars, its rough and terrible to clean as dust gets trapped in all the crevices.
I understand why MB changed, the interior on my w203 is not durable. Yet in making a durable dash, they make it look awful.
Now you can keep bashing my comments, or accept I think the W204 is terrible, you think its great, and we can move on.
