Service A and Oil Additive

Hi,

My W204 is due for Service A. So I asked a couple of questions to my dealership.

The manager said the cost would be $299-$320. Also, he said the cost would be less if I do not choose "Oil Additive."

Do I have to choose "Oil Additive"? Please advise me. Thank you.

Do not add any additive to the Mobil 1.

MB is adamant about not using additives of any kind.

This is just a profit item for the dealer.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Why

don't you inspect the belts and hoses, top off the fluids, diy your oil and fleece filter with mobil1 0w40 syn and record it in the service book that you have done it,reset the fss and pocket the $250 saved
You are allowed to do your own maintenance interval services and it does not void the warranty.
ohlord
btw I bet it still runs you more than $320.... they always have some way of scamming you into add ons or items you don't need.Wait till they replace perfectly good rotors when it is time to just renew your pads, you will learn

Valvoline perhaps? Mobil 1 is 0w-40 for gassers.
