HOW MANY CHIPS DO YOU HAVE ON YOUR FRONT WINDSHIELD? I have LOTS
I used the search function and found that this was a common issue with German cars using softer glass...
What is the deal with this?
I thought I had tree sap at first, until after closer inspection, I realized that they were a ton of very small chips in the glas....
No risk of spiderwebbing (wayyy to small for that), but they just look VERY annoying in direct sunlight...
looks like I didnt bother to clean the sap off my window...

I dunno. On my old Honda, all the front glass areas looked pitted after a while. It may just be a function of how much crud is on our roads these days. I had changed the light bulbs thinking I'd get a better view of the road at night, but that didn't do much good ... I finally realized I'd need to replace the headlight glass too.
I did replace that car's windshield, with American glass, and it was much better after that, if a wee bit distorted in places.
Does anyone make American glass for MB? I thought all the MB windscreens were MB made, even the replacement ones.

wonder if it has to do with the cars aerodynamics or glass quality... cus my old volvo with 200K miles didn't seem to chip this fast...

About 5 years back I had my Porsche's windshield changed for about the fourth time and it's also Pilkington.
