The voice control in the new C-Class and most of the 2009 models is amazing. It is very accurate and allows you to enter full destinations (and many other functions) completely by voice.

2011 BMW 335xi titanium silver.
Press the little voice button on the right side of the steering wheel to speak to the system.
Can use the joystick / knob while the car is not in motion; otherwise, you have to speak out the commands or directions while driving.
Training takes about 10 minutes. Pretty accurate for the most part.
Can have the music going, controlling the tracks with the left steering wheel buttons while the nav is running on the main screen.

50% Works Great!
50% Works not so Great!
90% Unable to Recognize Hawaiian Street Names….. USELESS! Or was it Priceless?

I think its a good system once you train it

works flawless here in netherlands. I do not have to spell the street names. I only say the name of the town or street and bingo.

Hey thanks guys. I just used it and it does work wonders. How do I get an upgrade to the software? Does it cost a lot?
I know I should read the manual, but when I have the car sitting outside and i'm inside for half hour reading...hahah my patience gets down to zero and I had to run out there and drive that bad boy!

You can get an update CD from the dealer. I believe I read it runs around 200.00 to 300.00 USD but I could be wrong. I have seen them on E-bay for less than 150.00. I wouldn't bother with an update till I have had the car for a couple of years I dought much will be added in a short amont of time.
While we are talking about the update CD I belong to a watch forum and we run pass arounds of watches basically everyone pays the same to a pool and a watch is purchased everyone in the pool gets the watch for one week then ships it to the next person in line. When it has gone to everyone in the pool a drawing is held and that lucky person gets to keep the watch.
Now what I am proposing is similar a group gets together and purchases the update CD once the first person installs it the cd is sent to the second then the third and so on. At the end instead of one person keeping it someone with E-bay savy puts it up for auction and the sale is split among all of the members.
